GOt this from a Towson website, ironically. Made me feel a little better that the LT position wasn't the trainwreck everyone remembers it to be. Also, Mett didn't look as bad either. Stood in the pocket and took some shots. Obviously some plays are missing, but I think the original creator of the video was trying to highlight when Lemonier lined up against Josh D.

Enjoy.

Taking another look at it the LT had some pancakes and mett did show alot of poise in the pocket.

The refs missing that LSU recovered was pretty offensive as well, but it happens LSU is still 4-0.

I only noticed one play where Josh D completely whiffed on pass protection against Lemonier. The sack before that one which caused Mett's fumble did not look like it was fully on Dworacyk. It looked as if it was a designed cut-block for a quick 3-step drop. Lemonier's freakish balance and Mett holding on to the ball longer than intended led to that fumble. I wouldn't go as far as saying Dworacyk looked good in that game but he didn't look as terrible as what people make him out to be. He was pretty good at drive blocking on running plays.

After watching those plays again, it seems that our passing play calling could be better, more creative. I watched some highlights of South Carolina, they create opportunities for their qb, quick 2-3 step drops, taking what the D gives em over and under the middle of the field. But... Auburn s D played hard and aggressive.

Bottom line is it's a completely different ball game without the 2 early fumbles

We don't fumble those and it's a blow out

That's the value of having such a dominant defense. If you get up 14 points on a team, their defense will give up.

The line play was hot and cold.......at times it's fantastic then porous.

Big Willy hasn't been singled out yet....there should be some scrutiny for him as we'll. all I'm gonna say.

Josh D's cut block was adequate . Mett needed to have ball out quicker as designed.

All this does is illustrate why Josh D is a guard and shouldn't be playing OT. He manges well because he's crafty and smart but his physical skills are not suited for OT. Agree on Williford. He's never been a very good pass blocker. His size helps him tremendously in those situations. Not much room to go around him on the inside.

I'd be more interested in seeing a full vid from the Hurst perspective. He is really struggling.

To me, we need to attack the middle of the field with quick passing. With 8-9 in the box or 5 DL, we can run the shallow cross or mesh concept and really pick on defenses with it.

With three wide and two backs in the backfield, we can spread a defense out, and then run some designed screens behind the rush, a swing/flare or two, and then send Beckham and Landry over the middle, we can really open up a defense and achieve both dominance and balance.

Oh, and look at how athletic Collins is at LG and what they're asking him to do, and how he's excelling at doing it.

He's without question our best offensive lineman. Right now.

There is this one particular play,I think it's called a screen pass, that may have worked.

The defensive back jumped the hot route receiver. Auburn guessed right and defended the play perfectly. It happens. Holding the ball was a good decision by Mett. Not protecting the football when taking the sack wasn't so good, but hopefully Mett will learn from it. I'd also like to see him respond a little quicker at going to his next receiver, but that comes with experience.
