If Adam Taylor is committed as a Grey shirt to LSU, that says a lot about his love for the Tigers when he could have gone elsewhere. Folks in Katy have mucho $$$, I'm sure his parents wouldn't have any problems paying for his school if that' what he really wants. I say give him #18 if he sticks to his commitment and grey shirts.

This is a very strange deal, I just Googled "Adam Taylor LSU Running Back Katy Texas", there's a CBS article saying he committed to LSU back in May. I also found a forum on University of Colorado football website where their fans are bitching that he committed to LSU instead of them. WTF? Are LSU fans the only ones not aware of this commit? FYI, Bama, Oklahoma and Texas really wanted this kid, he must be a bad arse. Adam Taylor tweeted May 3, 2012, "My dreams are coming to reality slowly every day, just committed to LSU Geaux Tigers". WTF?

We had a long thread about him back in May when he tweeted this...it was speculation that his offer wasn't commitable which is why we have talked much about him since...Apparently they wanted to see him in camp first since the injury...he came to a camp and I am not sure what happened since then..

You can try searching for the thread if u want but I didn't

Here's highlights of him in one of his games this year (I HIGHLY suggest you mute it before watching )

LINK

He reminds me of those Wisconsin running backs of old. Bigger guy with decent mobility and is just a good runner

Geaux if this kid walks on or even greyshirts then he loves LSU as much as we do!!! I mean its one thing for a borderline recruit to greyshirt but this kid could have a full ride to almost any D1 school. I have always loved this kid. He plays against the tuffest High School compitition in the nation and is a stud. Man I hope he comes to LSU. Just think if he came as a greyshirt then worked his way up the dept chart getting on the team and starting the same year. That would be epic.

That's the only conclusion that I can draw with this kid being this adamant about being at LSU when EVERY insider we have has said he doesn't have a commitable offer

Dude, I replayed it over at least four times just to make sure I wasn't hearing crazy things. He was on TV tonight saying he can't wait to get it going at LSU and the HC from The Woodlands also said he's LSU bound. I think because our class of 2013 filled up so fast and the fact that we need DT's with a possible CB & WR they may have asked the kid to pay his way his freshman year(because his parents can$$) then a scholarship offer his sophomore year. He's a very well spoken kid from a really uppity-up area of Houston, the kid knows what he wants and nothing is stopping him.

His knee definitely isn't bothering him anymore. He's tearing it up and Katy is doing pretty good this year.

Aren't y'all missing the obvious...it's 25 (+ early enrollees). We already know several plan on doing so, thereby back-counting (remember Fehoko/Liggins didn't/won't make it. Avery definitely counts to '12 when he comes).
If he proves healthy this season, then why not. We'd still have room, and as you say, his determination is irrefutable.
Hope it doesn't scare off one of our future La guys.
CLM knows what he's doing. We only know a part of the picture.

I thought the new rules don't allow teams to count back now?

GA, haven't you been reading my posts?!.
It doesn't seem anyone really has the new rules figured out. Some think they do(I did at one time but they're just too damn confusing. Thanks Mike Slive) but I have yet to see any consensus on exactly how they work. I do know that backcounting is still allowed but not sure how or who is eligible. The new initial counter timeline also throws a wrench in the program. We should definitely be able to have a better understanding after this class signs since it appears we will definitely be over 25. As luck would have it though, we'll likely end up with only 25 actually signing and keep us confused for another year. I've got a UGA guy helping me follow how their class counts, so that may help us decipher the code. They're definitely taking more than 25, maybe more than 30.

ADAM TAYLOR COMMITS TO LSU (Posted on 5/3/12 at 7:06 p.m.)

Adam Taylor (Posted on 5/5/12 at 5:35 p.m.)

Adam Taylor (Posted on 7/8/12 at 3:02 p.m.)

Recruits (for camp) this weekend (Posted on 7/13/12 at 2:45 p.m.)

Adam Taylor Probably OU Bound (Posted on 8/1/12 at 3:31 p.m.)

What fanva said about him wanting to come but maybe not having the committable offer seems to be the case.

The "Recruits (for camp) this weekend" thread is the one that I think has the Expert's (Geaux247) explanation about it.

Hopefully he coming as a grayshirt but doesn't want everyone in Texas to know it. I promise not to tell.

How has the sophomore RB at Katy, Rodney Anderson, done this year?
