is rap music?

it is a sequence of sounds arranged in a space of time to create a melody and a rhythm so yes it is music.

Is it good music is a matter of opinion but its classification as music is a fact.

Dylan didn't sing in tune
Dylan never had a problem with pitch.. He :was: actually a fantastic singer. Not so much now, but it's not because he's out of tune.

that's cool, I personally never considered a singer a musician, unless they played an instrument ....

I don't know what you're bowing about. All that post means is that you're both wrong.

If we're basing this question on rap music it's no question it's MF Doom or Eminem.

Well I don't agree with you.

A singer is a singer. Just because drunk bob can sing karaoke on Friday nights doesn't make him a musician.

Ian MacKaye.

He was pretty much at the forefront of hardcore, which is the root of Alternative Rock, the biggest change in pop music other than hip hop (which is more of a producer's medium -- Dr. Dre has a great case as well). Then he formed the pre-eminent post-punk act that really is the foundational act of Alt Rock and later indie rock.

And, at the genre's commerical peak, he turned inwards and foretold the coming of more earnest and personal indie rock. If you want to follow pop music's development in the last 25 years, just see what Ian MacKaye is doing -- because that's where it is going.

He's the Lou Reed of the modern era. Only 1000 people bought his album, but they all formed bands.

I am going to have to check him out. Sometimes I think you're too smart to be a human. I'm waiting to find out that you're a robot.

Ian MacKaye is the frontman for Minor Threat, Fugazi, and the Evens.

My programming does not allow me to confirm or deny your allegation.

Jesus christ. why Doc, why

When you know good and well that a voice can be as much of an instrument as anything someone can do with their fingers. not to mention, many of the good ones arrange the melodies, write the lyrics, etc

dont hate your singer because he gets all the tang bro

Hey Doc, I don't see a year in the original post. How's your reading comprehension? Do you even know what comprehension means?
