I don't know where this thread has gone since the OP, but I think My Morning Jacket qualifies as a jam band.
I wouldn't rate them very high in that category, but to be fair I haven't listened to them very much. I saw a dvd of them at red rocks about a month ago on paladia. They fit the mold for the most part.
They aren't simply a jam band, whereas most jam bands are specifically designated to that genre.
As for jam on, that station is pretty good but they just don't play a great selection of music. I hear the same songs on there way too often, and if they want to play the same songs they should take SBDs from concerts so that people can appreciate the improvisation of bands like moe. and Umphrey's that they play a lot. I don't want to hear the same exact version of a song every day, if I did I wouldn't be listening to jam bands as much as I do.
