I know most folks come away from the Auburn game wnating to talk about OL play and WR drops,, and those are real concerns .
However, I still think we've got a lot of wrok to do among our DBs..
Reid is solid, but strated out with poor play against N. Texas.
T. Simon is not the lock down guy in coverage a lot of us expected. To me, he's shown little progress since last year.
Mills has a long way to go, but is playing extrememy well for a true Freshman.
Loston has disappointed and Eugene got beat badly on a deep route, which scores a TD if not overthrown.
Auburns QBs stink, and they threw some bad passes to open reciviers.
Florida will be a challnege is Driscoll continues to improve..

You expect them to never get beat?

Who is Driscoll?

And our pass D is top 10 in the nation. What's the problem again?

The only TD Auburn scored was when Mett fumbled inside our own 30. So, there's that.

Auburn had less than a 100 yards of passing. There is plenty to bitch about, just not the secondary at this point

I'm really high on j mills. The dude is young but will leave here not as good as Peterson but better than Hawkins and the like. (I know it's a big gap but Hawkins wasn't a bad as some made him out to be).

I look forward to this young defense in general to run with it now. They got punched in the nose by an unsuspecting auburn team. They did really well but I think they taste blood now.

I agree with this. He has gotten caught trying to be a little too agressive and its going to cost us if he keeps it up. We miss Brandon Taylor more than most think. The young guys have been flat out awesome. Simon is the only guy that is giving up anything. He relies on bating QBs and using his size and recovery speed to make a play. He is playing a little too dangerous for my liking, but he didnt give up any td passes and very few yards. He will be fine

Yea you talk about Simon not improving, well I think he has been great, PP7 even got picked on in his last game ever as a tiger vs a&m

Despite the good job the secondary has done so far, feel the title to this holds true. Hopefully Eugene can sharpen his game, think Reid tries to do too much..glad he is back there.

Did anyone see Martin out there once Saturday?

Loston is consistently lost. He has a big hat, but I don't see any other reason for him to be on the field.

He was on the field during the Reid jersey tackle on Mccaleb.

Yeah. He tried for a diving interception but the ball hit the turf before he could get to it. Still an incredibly athletic attempt though.

I thought he played well on Saturday. I didn't see any glaring mistakes by him.

i think the loss of tm7 has hurt the team. reid and simon trying to be play makers instead of just doing their job. eugene has 2 or 3 sacks and has never tried to strip the ball (tm7 specialty). obj has no impact on punt returns (outside of n. texas). we miss tm7 bad.

ps. montgomery taking up slack in leadership/energy.

Martin and loston rotated every 2 series.

I said on here over the summer that Simon wasn't a lockdown cb. But the tards on here are so caught up in the media and the shite Les says, that they grilled me.

He's a solid cb, but people who were touting him as this beast, lockdown, 1st round pick were delusional. Tards started the TM couldn't cover myth when in reality Simon was picked on more than TM last yr.

I have to talk w my cable provider bc it seems like im getting different lsu games than some of u expert evaluators. The secondary? Really? In a game where the opponent had less than 100 yds passing? And dont give me this auburn missed a deep guy that couldve resulted in a big gain nonsense. Ur overanalyzing. That sort of thing happens in EVERY game. No receiver is 100 percent locked down the entire game. Even the vaunted bama D left russell shepard wide open before the half last yr (wouldve been an easy td), let andre debose take them deep on first play of game, let john brantley go off, etc. they had a GREAT secondary. Doesnt mean they didnt have an occasional lapse. Dont worry about any aspect of the D.

To be fair, Eugene got picked by a WR which is why the guy was open. Credit should goto the offensive scheme there.

I guess a "true" lockdown corner never gets beat, correct? Claiborne(#6 pick) got torched on a bomb against UF last year and he was as good as they come. It happens.

I'm very curious as to what his 40 time is going to be at the combine.
