what the frick is going on with this show these days? Wasn't there ONE new episode a few weeks ago and then they went on break again after being on a month break? Are they just stretching this season out for a full year now by taking breaks between each episode?

Next Episode is Barney's Bachelor Party. After that it seems to be a two part wedding episode. And at the end of the second part, we will finally meet the mother.

They've also said that they might go a different direction for season 9.
Sounds like it'll either be showing how Ted and the mother date and get married, or it'll be shown from the mothers side, highlighting all the times that they nearly met, but just missed each other.

It's like they know they only have loyal fans now, and the only reason those loyal fans keep watching is because of 8 years of wondering who the mother is.

I don't know about other fans, but I'd be more likely to watch the last season if its about Ted and the mother's relationship than if its still about how he meets her

"Loyal" wouldnt be the word id use. Its more of a Hostage situation.

I'm watching the last season no matter what honestly. But I think that would be a much better storyline. It would open up so many more episode possibilities.
