The train station episodes make it seem like she's a musician at the wedding. So she doesn't necessarily need an invite. Also, there is no apparent recognition by Ted at the train station. You would think if he'd have been introduced to her at the wedding as Barney's step sister that he'd have torn himself away from the old lady long enough to wave or something.

Barney's sister will be Ashley Benson, imo. Last night, the producer had a live chat and someone asked about what her role would be. He was very secretive about it. She fits the profile, Blonde, 22, etc... You can read the chat here

I LOVED the ending/proposal, really awesome way to wrap that up. I couldn't help thinking though that was WAAAAAAAY to ballsy, because it could have just as easily failed. In the page with "The Robin" on it one of the steps even says something like "Hopefully Ted will tell Robin, because if it does that means he's over her". Well..what if Ted didn't tell her? I mean taking a wiffle bat to the nuts is serious business, as is breaking a jinx/jinx promise as we saw in the first part. It was a pretty massive leap to assume Ted will tell her.

One thing I do hope is that Ranjit is the cab driver that brings Ted's future etude to that train station

Well, we will know soon then. If she is Barney's sister, if she never meets Ted in any of the episodes she is in, she is the Mother. If she meets him, then it can't be her.

Still though, Ted could have told her, got his feelings off his chest, and then been like "do whatever you want to do". But he more or less FORCED her to go up to the roof. Without Ted's badgering Robin probably wouldnt' have ever gone up there.
But I'm just splitting hairs here, like I said I thought it was an awesome ending and I was blown away. Kinda like Ted's 2 minute date.

I'm anxious to see what's in store for the rest of the season. A few weeks ago NPH posted a picture of himself covered in fake blood on the set. Wonder what the story around that is

Barney's sister will not be Ashley benson. Carter bays says in Vulture that she plays one of Ted's love interest that is wrong for him in a very funny way.

Like I said earlier, Ted is going to meet a chick at that party. Robin alluded to it. Doesn't mean it'll be the mother.

This is why I believe the theory that Barney's sister is the mother. That way it's not just a random person. It has to either be a person like that who is either related to one of the main characters or has some type of connection to a previous story.

Just got around to watching the episode.
I was very pleased with it like most.
I posted that after last weeks episode. Little bragging for myself. I saw it coming. I mean Barney and Patrice just didn't matchup. Had to know he was working an angle.
The execution was great though. I do wish that we woulda seen a major development with Ted. I was hoping he'd see a girl at the party that caught his eye or had a yellow umbrella or something. Even if it wasn't the mother, just something.
I really hope we get to see courtship and dating for the mother. I'd feel cheated if it was just them meeting and then done.
I was very pleased with it like most.

That's fair, but Robin and Barney make much more sense than Patrice and Barney.
