I need some new waders before duck season in november, are the Drake ones worth the extra money or are the cheap ones at bass pro good enough? I had red ball ones and they sucked

Get LaCrosse and you're done for years.

I bought some cabelas brand waders last season and have really been impressed with them so far.

I really like my Drake LST's. But I got a steal on them. I don't know if they're worth the extra cash though. They have some great features I will say that for them. I know some people have had problems with the earlier batches of them , but mine are holding up good

I bought a cabelas brand pair last year. They are like 1000 gram thinsulate, which i need up here in mizzou. I have been real pleased with them.

I second the Cabelas breatheables if you're in the south. I won't buy anything else

Check out Mack's Prairie Wings waders. I just picked up a pair this year while I was in Stuttgart and they are pretty nice. Like them better than the previous Lacrosse pair.

I have some lacrosse 1200 neoprenes

They are nice and warm but difficult to move around in and they are pretty damn hot during teal season which is why I got the breathable ones

Drake MST's in old school, they're great. I'm buying some breathable fly fishing waders with a wading boot soon though- so much easier to wade through the mud

I have cabelas neoprene and they are damn fine waders...nice reinforcement at the knees and a good chest pouch for shells, etc...

they are a little hot in the warmer weather, though, so I will probably buy a goretex pair and switch back and forth based on the weather...

Been debating getting a new pair or just patching the ones I have, waiting to see if I can find a good deal.

Anybody have an experience with these. There are only 600 g but I have had thicker ones before and I just sweat on real cold mornings I just put on some more layers. I hunt in Louisiana the coldest I have been was 20 degrees and my 600 worked fine my olds just busted leaks too much
LINK

also has anyone ever had one of these drake waterfowl vests. I have a buddy that swears by them, but he is one of those guys that goes out and buys anything drake makes LINK

I have had the LaCrosse breathable ones for 6 seasons, same pair. I hunt alot, flooded corn, ice, briars, nasty shite. I love them because they are the easiest waders I have ever owned to get in and out of. They provide no warmth, which to me is a good thing; I just layer under them when it is really cold. But hunting in the South, many days seem cold until the hard work of hunting begins. They are very versatile and durable.

Cabelas Dry Plus waders if you're NOT hunting AR timber. Hunting anywhere else, definitely wouldn't buy anything else. They breathe and are lighter on the boot insulation. If you need more leg insulation, just put on wader pants.

I've had the same neoprene Lacrosse waders since the 2005 season with no tears or holes, can't go wrong with them. For early season just get a cheap pair of Cabelas light weights.

Whatever you do, avoid Drake, as 2 guys in my lease had leaks within 5 hunts of buying them.

I second the Drake statement, after minimal use, my MST Eqwaders are leaking somewhere in the upper seam of the inner leg. I checked online after it happened and seems to be a common problem. I will be trying out the Cabela's Supermag 1600 this year.

Looking at Hodgman(sp?) on ebay. SIL bought a pair that cost $160 shipped. 1200 gr/boots and thick as shite neoprene (6mm).

Always used redwings that were 3mm neoprene and 1000 gr boots. Last pair lasted 4 years till SIL used them running crawfish traps. Should make him buy my next set.
