Is it worth the watch? it comes out on DVD today and I'm debating buying it. Just didn't know if it was worth it.

I REALLY enjoyed it. Excellent concept, well written. It's a middle finger to the tortue porn genre

maybe the most controversal movie of the year. it has like a 95 on Rotten Tomatoes but i know 3 people who walked out of it. One of my buddies said when he left the theater everyone around him was just shaking their head saying how that was the worst movie they'd ever seen but you also read critics saying how brillant it is.

i dont get it.

Great movie.
People probably didn't like it because it wasn't a true horror movie. It had me rolling from begginig to end

Seems you are incredibly dumb.. and you have dumb friends.

Movie was incredibly intelligent, too bad so few people were smart enough to appreciate it..

ETA: my copy should be coming in from amazon today.

are you

1.) older than 40?
2.) younger than 20?

also, are you a fan of the horror genre?

I ask this because the movie does a specific thing and the target of its satire is specific. I'm not saying this to be pretentious at all, but do you think you "got it"?

This is why I asked. Critics wrote well about it but I just a few people that actually liked it.

Yes. Absolutely yes. This movie is not only enjoyable, but it's fricking genius. It's weird because I rarely ever use the "oh you just don't get it" argument, but this movie is a perfect example of something that you either understand or completely miss.

The movie on the surface isn't very good. But IIt's not supposed to be. That's the point...the entire movie is one big satirical "frick you" to the horror movie genre (the director called it a "loving hate letter" I believe).

If you go into the movie expecting typical horror fare, you'll definitely hate it. But if you go into it with an open mind and realize the points it is trying to make, you'll love it. I haven't looked forward to a DVD release this much in years..

Right. I hate the "you didn't get it" assholes. But this is a movie that is completely different from what it seems on the surface.

It's just a fun movie. And spoilers for people who have seen it:

We, the movie goers, are the gods. I thought that was cool as hell.

I'd buy it for Jenkins and Whitford alone.
