He basically just called Goodell out for power tripping and taking complete advantage of the world's addiction to the NFL.

You shouldn't blame Goodell on this it's the owners. Just as the lockout was the owners. Goodell is an employee basically of the owners.

He really did. Goodell doesnt care about player safety. He cares about flexing his muscle.

The NFL doesn't care how well the games are officiated as long as people watch. If they cared they would Not have high school refs out there.

He blasted the NFL not Goodell. He is correct, about hypocrisy. Thing is Gooddell can cut a deal tonight, but if owners don't like it, there's nothing he can do.

he was calling the NFL out for being hypocritical about pushing player safety but having these refs..

but it was the way in which he was doing it that was great.

he also compared the refs to collegiate free agent refs..

He said the demand for the NFL will never go down in this case so there is no need to give in to the official's demands. We can bitch and moan all we want about the shitty replacement refs, but in the end, it doesn't hurt the demand of the NFL. That is why the NFL won't budge.

...What he said in a nutshell

he basically said the NFL doesnt care about the players or fans because they know we will still watch and the players are still going to play

Dilfer also started saying its hypocritical for Goodell and the NFL to act like they care about player safety but then allow division 3 college refs to control a game

Everything Goodell has done in his tenure has been driven by the owners. The thing that hurt Goodell the most IMO, was Upshaw dying and getting a competent union leader for the players. Also, the new owners being hurt by the economy tanking.

Roger Goodell is the easy one to blame and he accepts it, but all this ref stuff falls on Richardson, Jones, Snyder and crew.

ah, gotcha. He's right too.

There were definitely some bad calls in this game but Denver still turned the ball over too much.

He's such a hypocrite about this. The suspensions and penalties are just an act so they don't get sued by former NFL players who have brain disease. If he really cares about player safety, then why does he keep pushing for the 18 game season? And having Thursday night games giving players less time to between games?
