Chardonnay and the Tigs took his starch in PMAC 2006..never been the same since. I kid.

One helluva HOF HC, wonder if UConn Mens Hoops will be able to sustain what he built?

His rant about Ryan Gomes is the best rant I've ever witnessed to this day.

Bad day for UConn. Stuck wallowing in the Big East after the Notre Dame news, and now this.

May be another thread...but if this is it, where do you rank Calhoun all time? Top 3? Top 5? Top 10?

Definitely top ten. I'm not sure I know enough about college basketball to get much more specific than that.

Top 5 without a shadow of a doubt.

Top 5 easily. He built that program from nothing - ground up - and won 3 national titles.

So with this and the academic issues they're having does UCONN just disappear into the abyss for a few years?

should've rode off into the sunset after kemba won that title in 2011.

Top 5 easily? Who out of K, Wooden, Rupp, Smith, or Knight are you leaving off? I'd feel a lot better about his legacy if it there wasn't academic and recruiting violations following him the whole time. Not to mention harboring criminals on his team.

Great coach, and a sage old motherf#%ker. Eers had them dead to rights in the Hartford center last year and he got T'd up at the perfect time to get the crowd & team back into it...and won.

I loved to hate him but wish him good health.
