Wait so are you saying that the football players should get even more special treatment than the rest?

Also, this is a recurring problem with Les. Having to dismiss multiple player off the team every year, it seems. Not saying he should be fired cause he shouldn't but he really needs to start taking control and holding players accountable for what they do.

i honestly dont have a problem with this. this maybe stereotypical but i'm guessing a lot of football players wouldnt be going to college if it wasnt for their athletic ability so i'm don't care if they are given the easiest classes and teachers. also the value they bring to the university compared to us regs is worthy of special treatment imo

absolutely. They make millions for the university and to some our only escape from our bitching wives. They are the life blood of baton rouge and lsu. There is always exception to the rule and life isn't fair. This should be apparent after 5th grade. Andrew luck has a degree in architecture from Stanford, but can't even draw the facade of a stadium.

I don't care if they major in underwater basket weaving. The truth is they came here to play football because that is their god given gift. Half the stuff you learn in school is either irrelevant or forgotten. It's all about the paper. They deserve better then this for everything they do. They wil have no problem finding a job when they are done with lsu football if they don't make it to the league.

Help me understand something. Maybe this was discussed in the 8 pages of this thread, but how badly do you have to perform to become academically ineligible? I mean, LSU is not Harvard. More than one semester I only showed up to class for tests and got all or mostly all A's. Do these guys not even show up for tests or something?

I mean, the average joe can't catch a break. People scream and cry over their ideological fundamentals but still realize that the ones that make the rules will break them because they can. What changes? Nothing. I for one would like to benifit from some unfairness. Personally I think it's a power play by alleva, he is to deep in university politics then a AD should be. He should stay out of football operations. You think this would happen if saban was here? NO.

I rarely post there but that's hilarious coming from you when you don't even understand a zone D.

to call it an academic issue to me isn't fair.

You need this spelled out for you? These 4 players don't give a frick about their grades. This attitude has led to them making poor grades. These poor grades have, in turn, led to them being declared ACADEMICALLY ineligible. Ya see? Contrary to popular belief, college football players do, in fact, still have to attend school.

With 74 players available, "depth" seems to be an issue. I was just seeing how this has been spun since "depth" issues have repeatedly been thrown by many here at another team with roughly the same ranking as LSU and roughly the same # of players.

As expected, well spun folks.

not the same, at all....see, we actually have 2 deep at every position and yall do not. every school has casualties each year, without looking id be willing to bet that USC is down below 74 at this point

I don't have to look, I know USC is below 74.

On another note, I still don't understand how these players are ineligible considering all the academic support they get. I have seen plenty of guys graduate from LSU that weren't the brightest

think of what it cost for a full ride at LSU and these guys are just pissing it away. They should have to earn the scholarship back if the yare allowed back. You know as an athlete that you have to maintain a certain GPA and tke a certain number of courses to be eligible. Dumb.

so you would have wanted Ford to earn back his Scholarship 3 times since hes started at LSU? dont think so gtfo
