And why did it take so long?

not sure where the mess up was, but i can tell you that at the cox center, the tutors get very rigorous training as to keeping in line with NCAA protocol. the football players will come to them with all sorts of sheninigans, but the tutors are capable of setting them straight, and in a fashion that they can pass a said class.

and i say this as an LSU alum, LSU isnt exactly MIT. it really doesnt take a genius to skate by in the college of arts and sciences. add in the fact that these guys have all the special individual attention? im sorry, thats inexcusable and in my opinion the blame should be assigned mostly to the player.

Lol the admins took it down, yet I was one of the ones saying Ford and Jones were ineligible a week before it came out. Oh well.

In this situation, the specifics may not be a great idea to share

Jimmie, thanks for the info...I know it must have pained you to start this thread. Hopefully, these guys can figure out that school is pretty easy if you apply yourself.

ok, my misunderstanding is with the word compliance. I am sure that LSU is in compliance.

what i am saying is that the football players, to be academically ineligible, are not in compliance with LSU football expectations. and to call it an academic issue to me isn't fair.

they need someone to take charge of the "off the field" development of the players. the attrition we suffer from on the field injuries is bad enough, its really frustrating to see it as a result of straight knuckle head behavior.

Anyways, yeah, I would put these completely on the players. With all the special treatment and tutors they receive, there is absolutely no reason to fail. That's just saying you don't give a frick. None of these players are "above" the program and some of them just get their head to big and think nothing will happen to them. Take TM for example. Sucks, but that's the way it is.

what? When a player is academicly ineligible that is, by definition and academic issue. Period.

The causes may be many fold, but the issue is still academic.

think of what it cost for a full ride at LSU and these guys are just pissing it away. They should have to earn the scholarship back if the yare allowed back. You know as an athlete that you have to maintain a certain GPA and tke a certain number of courses to be eligible. Dumb.

my argument is that the academic bar is set so low, it is more of conduct issue, not a classroom or test taking issue.

When does my thread make the Home page? It is very worthy and the first thing everyone should see in the AM. I would do it myself if I knew how.

One wonders why Jeremy Hill and Terrance Magee haven't played, except for the fact that we are stacked at RB.

Magee has played in both games.
