I am looking for some new tires and would like to get some that has a little more height in them and a good AT tire... i found some good tires i just want to know how much higher my truck would be.

I have the stock 275/55/20 road tires that gmc puts on there trucks and now im looking at the general grabber AT2 tire in the 305/50/20... i need help from the OB on some specs and how much higher my truck would look....it has a leveling kit too soo im not worried about rubbing

get rid of 20" wheel. No need for that on a truck.

31.91 inch diameter on the stock tire
32.01 on the 305/50r20

so absolutely no difference, well .05 inches if you want to be technical.

I hear ya. Look for tire packages or set of tires and set of wheels online. Look for 17" and then sell your 20"
You will save $$ in the long run and may even come out even if you sell what you have.

Question: I don't know shite about tires (I feel like a women). What size can I fit on my truck and how do you figure that out. 265/70-18 is what I have now. What can I go up on while keeping factory rims?

Someone educate me.

Agreed. I have no idea why they are putting 20" rims on the new trucks with low profile type AT tires.

Get a good 17" wheel and buy some tires that can absorb some shock. Not to mention the 20" lower profile tires are expensive as shite.

I wouldn't recommend either of those sizes. I would recommend a 275/60/20 Cooper LTZ. They are just under 33" tall and about 11.5 wide. They are not E rated and can be had for cheap. They have a nice tread design and last a long time.

Ignore the people telling you to get smaller wheels. You paid a premium for the 20s so keep them. By the time you buy new rims you could have bought 2 sets of tires and still look better. I highly doubt you will be going rock crawling or even mudding since you are interested in those sizes, again, so smaller wheels is not necessary.

Eta: if it is a F150 no leveling kit or anything is necessary for the 275/60/20 to fit. The LTZ also comes in a 275/55/20 of you really want that size.

I had 275/60/20 cooper zeon ltz on my gmc 4x4 and I liked them. I talked car ram rod into them and he might chime in whether he likes them or not.

Google through some titan forums to see what the biggest size anyone managed to fit on a stock truck without rubbing. If you put a level kit google around and see what people with that kit were able to run without rubbing. Usually what I do.

The 20's look 100x better than 17's though.

Also OP, if you want to know what a tire size means, it's in millimeters. The first number is the width, the second is the aspect ration (the thickness of the sidewall as a percentage of the width) and the last one is the rim size.

275/55/20 is 275mm wide with a .55x275mm thick sidewall.

You can convert to inches and add the rim size to 2x the thickness of the sidewall to figure out tire height and width, but I just use the tire size calculator I posted cause it's easy and I hate math
