I'm hearing the consensus back up plan for any tackle injury is to utilize Josh D. at guard and kick out La'el to the tackle position. Although, that would provide the most experienced line up, I feel like LSU may be better suited to put Vadal Alexander in place of Hurst and leave Collins where he is.

Heard that on the radio yesterday as, "the most likely contingency plan", but obviously I do not know what the coaching staff would truly do.

I think Collins is fine at LG. They are grooming him to take over for Faulk when he leaves so they want Collins on the left side.

I liked what I saw from the limited action that Vadal got against North Texas and obviously the coaches did too. I would start him and see how it goes. Hurst just isn't playing how he was for most of the season last year and needs to step up big time

Thank you sir!

I'm just speculating. I could see a few different scenarios where a variety of personnel are used, depending on the injury/poor play.

I think the consensus has been Dworaczyk being the backup at every position except center. I don't think I've seen one report of Collins working at tackle, but practice has been closed for a while so maybe it has changed.

that o-line and the backs better pick up their blocks better than they did last saturday.
They're gonna get Mett killed.

Les said yesterday that Vadal will most likely be the guy that's called upon.

eta: And I don't think we'll lose a beat with the true FR. In fact, he may lend some other qualities that Hurst struggled with. Namely pass protection.

I am encouraged to hear that it (perhaps)seems like Miles wants the most effective OL possible--which is what all fans want. If that means a true frosh like Vadal Alexander, so be it, even if Josh D. is a sixth year senior, it appears Alexander is just an awesome talent who has learned the LSU system much quicker than many anticipated. Also, it helped him to enroll in January & participate in spring practices.

....and Mett better pay attention to his WR signals for blitzes......the infamous sack was 100% Mett's fault.

You have a contrary point of view or just the authority on adequate posting skills?
