As they should be at this point, just like I said the winner of LSU/Oregon should be last year. Hopefully the pollsters continue to be fluid throughout the season

Not surprising, but Michigan was grossly over rated. Take Michigan's roster, give it to Illinois and they probably aren't ranked.

Can tell they ran out of teams to rank at the end with Florida and Stanford on there.

My $.02....

quote:

1. Alabama (45) 1-0 1,481 2
2. USC (11) 1-0 1,435 1
3. LSU (4) 1-0 1,382 3

Fine with this

quote:

4. Oregon 1-0 1,295 5
5. Oklahoma 1-0 1,170 4

Also makes sense
quote:

6. Florida St. 1-0 1,135 7
7. Georgia 1-0 1,083 6

Ok with this too

quote:

8. Arkansas 1-0 992 10

Seems generous to gain two spots for a 49-24 win over FCS team but who else I guess

quote:

9. South Carolina 1-0 980 9
9. West Virginia 1-0 980 11

WVU should be higher

quote:

11. Michigan St. 1-0 915 13

2 spots to squeeze out a win at home vs. rebuilt Boise?

quote:

12. Clemson 1-0 788 14

Should be higher

quote:

13. Wisconsin 1-0 664 12

Should be lower. 26-21 over Northern Iowa?

quote:

14. Ohio St. 1-0 634 18
15. Virginia Tech 1-0 604 16
16. Nebraska 1-0 603 17
17. Texas 1-0 584 15
18. Oklahoma St. 1-0 558 19

Whatever

quote:

19. Michigan 0-1 446 8

LOL

quote:

20. TCU 0-0 355 20
21. Kansas St. 1-0 339 22

Okay

quote:

22. Notre Dame 1-0 198 NR

Please

quote:

23. Louisville 1-0 190 25

Sure

quote:

24. Florida 1-0 145 23
25. Stanford 1-0 131 21

I hope these teams are still ranked by default and default alone.

quote:

Boise State 79, Tennessee 73, Brigham Young 63, North Carolina 48, Baylor 38, Utah 34, Washington 15, Georgia Tech 14, Ohio 10, TEXSTATE 10, Missouri 7, Texas A&M 5, South Florida 5, UCF 4, Mississippi State 3, Auburn 3, Cincinnati 2

I would have put BYU at 24 and Boise at 25.

I don't think so. Pollsters go all squishy for a senior QB, especially one as high profile as Denard. But I do agree that #8 or whatever was crazy talk.

Hard to make any judgments on most teams based on glorified scrimmages.

Bama is the defending champ (not that this should factor) but they look great.

They should be the clear cut #1

Top 4 should be clear cut right now too.

But...
quote:

5. Oklahoma 1-0 1,170 4
6. Florida St. 1-0 1,135 7
7. Georgia 1-0 1,083 6
8. Arkansas 1-0 992 10
9. South Carolina 1-0 980 9
9. West Virginia 1-0 980 11

This could be completely re-arranged and teams like South Carolina and Georgia and Oklahoma should be moved down until they prove that they deserve it.

And why preseason polls fail - especially the idiotic and rarely fluid Coaches Poll.

Notre Dame should be ranked way ahead of Stanford who shouldn't be ranked at all.

Michigan dropped from 8th to 19th, yet another reminder that there's more disincentive than incentive to schedule tough.

Stewart Mandel.

...and apparently in a unique double-twist...the pollsters have decided that 1) Bama is fantastic (by moving them up to #1) and Michigan sucks (by dropping them so far) at the same time.

I hope it pisses our team off and keeps them motivated.

ok, maybe Ill would be ranked 23 or something. #8 was insane. Alabama -12 was a layup bet, but I don't beleive in profiting from the truimphs of evil.

I watched the entire OU game vs. UTEP and I can't justify them at 5 and I really don't know how anyone who watched them could do the same
