This is from a couple of weeks ago. Pastner had previously said in June that he expected Carmouche to end up at LSU, and he is still saying that. I believe it is a done deal, but Johnny Jones perhaps has other additions and subtractions and wants to announce his complete, finalized roster all at once.

quote:

Though it isn't official, Pastner said Saturday that he still expects former Tigers guard Charles Carmouche to transfer to LSU. Carmouche, who graduated from Memphis in May, was granted a medical hardship by the NCAA for a fifth year of eligibility in June and has announced he will transfer.

Here is a recruiting board link to a thread where this was previously discussed, with stats, etc. It was apparently anchored for a poor thread title.

Tigers guard Charles Carmouche to transfer to LSU

We don't need another guard. We're going to get manhandled down low when SEC play arrives. What happened to the couple of big men that had interests in LSU?

I'll gladly add depth to this team at any position, but I'm really concerned about help in the post for Johny O since it doesn't look like we'll have Odoh this year.

any word on any other additions for 2012?

I agree that we don't need another guard, but we have unused scholarships and he will only be here for a year. Increased competition is a good thing and it can't hurt.

The rumors/possibilities of additions and subtractions are:

1. Calvin Godfrey is rumored to be ineligible
2. Charles Carmouche is rumored to be transferring to LSU
3. There is a rumored graduate transfer post player that is coming. This is not confirmed.

Majok Majok

The above link is to the profile of an Australian junior college player named Majok Majok. I had heard a few weeks ago that David Patrick was in on an Australian junior college basketball player. I was aware of Majok, because he played in Texas at Midland, but he was a late signee of Cleveland State.

The news just came out that he is not going to Cleveland State. I don't know why, whether he had a change of heart or academic issues. I have not confirmed that LSU is defnitely involved with him, but I believe they have at least been in contact with him.

He is the cousin of former UConn player Ater Majok.

ETA: He "signed" after the end of the signing period, so he is under no obligation to attend Cleveland State, assuming there are no eligibility/academic issues.

He'd be our very own Duany Duany.

**This post was about a player named Josh Lepley, that I have since learned LSU is not involved with.**

Apparently that double name thing is popular in the Sudan.

Carmouche isn't terrible but he's not really great either. Not much to get excited about.

I'm not excited about him at all. He's a body and we are thin.

I'm really just trying to figure out the final roster.

Bubba, now that Godfrey is officiallly ineligible, anyone else on the radar for this upcoming season? if not, it looks like it will be the 2013-14 before we can have a chance to be real competitive.

No names, but I believe there is at least one player. Still waiting for the Carmouche announcement.

He should have been here already, not sure why TJ didnt take in any of the UNO players with the depth problems he always had, even if they were for practice bodies

He said a few times publically that he didn't like having more than 10 or 11 guys on the roster. He felt like 13 players was too much to manage. Seriously.
