re: Crackpot ASOIAF Theories SPOILERS

Im pretty sure that dark haired son of Roberts never existed in the books. I think it was just something the show used to make the viewers more sympathetic towards cersei

Yeah man this whole idea is WAY off.

Not only did Cersei not have a child that died in the books, but the line from Ned to Jon about having his blood isn't even in the books. That whole interaction was completely new from the series. I actually think it was a great addition though. Ned and Jon never even have a farewell scene in the book.

It's similar to the scene with Tywin and Jamie in the tent when Tywin is skinning that deer. It's a great scene that gives a lot of background on the relationship, but it was not in the book. Still a good device by the producers.

I'll say this though for Kash, I read the books AFTER watching season 1 and I thought the same thing he did. I was convinced Jon was Robert's heir just didn't really know how yet.

Then I read the books

It could just be the show's way of introducing some doubt for the viewers about Jon being Ned's son since the LS/RT storyline is given virtually no time without the flashbacks and references to the TOJ.

Still my biggest complaint with the series.

Yeah, it blew my mind when I figured it out just about halfway through the first book. I definitely didn't realize it watching the first two seasons of the series.

as for a super crackpot theory:
Where did the children of the forest go?
What happened during the doom of Valyria?

Many of the children of the forest, realizing their time in Westeros was done, set sail for Valyria. They then warged into the dragons as an attempt to steal them and bring them back to Westeros to defeat the Andals. However, they could not control the dragons and ended up causing the doom of Valyria between the out of control dragons and the magic they tried to use to control them further.

I like it, Bob. Reminiscent of what tCotF did to The Neck in an attempt to stem the Andal advance North in Westeros.

So I was trying to figure out how Gendry plays a role in the future seeing as how the only people that know he is Robert's son for sure are dead. So let's say that at some point, Stoneheart goes too far and "King Robert's Men" decide that she is no longer fit or something happens that creates a leadership vaccuum in the BWOB. Brienne puts it forth that Gendry is a Baratheon and because of his royal ties he is made the leader.

We know that Stannis isnt going to make it out alive which would mean that there would only be Shireen left to claim any Baratheon lands and titles. I get the feeling that she and Selyse aren't going to live past of WoW. Just call it a hunch. I feel like once Targs hit Westeros in full force that the BWOB would easily link up with them and become a quasi-sellsword company given their mutual hate for the Lannisters.

Gendry and company provide leal service to the new crown and as a result he is legitimized and given Storm's End. Then he can marry a re-animated Arya, after she Nissa Nissas Jon's Sword. Oh and I don't give a shite about Edric Storm.

Well she all but makes the connection right before she fights Rorge and Biter at the Inn. She commented on how much he looked like Renly and having grown up in the shadow of the Red Keep, the wheels start clicking. I guess the only leap is how to prove it. I would wager that it would take Thoros to take a peak into the flames to validate it.

I imagine that Lady Stoneheart's leadership will split the group into the blood thirsty and those seeking justice after the Frey's are all dead. She isn't going to stop until everyone involved is dead and that will include women and children of House Frey. I don't think that the whole group will go along with that.
