what is the obsession in Maryland with their state flag?

The only states I know that are obsessed with their state flag are TX, AZ, SC, and MD.

I think it's a pretty awesome flag. But their application of the flag to some of their sports teams has been pretty awful.

Texans are obsessed with putting their flag on everything because they love Texas. Marylanders are obsessed with putting their flag on everything because our flag is friggin' awesome.
There are only three good state flags: New Mexico, Arizona, and Maryland. The rest are rejected craft fair projects, lame state seals, or just a blatant rip off of the US or Confederate flag (credit to Tennessee for actually knowing what the actual Confederate flag looked like).
The only problem with Maryland is how damn expensive it is to live there. I miss it.

I lived there for over 20 years in Montgomery and Frederick counties...Montgomery is uber expensive, but amazingly enough I'm finding some things in Mississippi more expensive than in the Frederick area...income and property taxes are steep though...

yea there are parts of montgomery county I could live, but damn housing is expensive
