5pm Eastern for anyone wanting to listen live. I'm either going to be relieved or disgusted, but if recent reports are correct, I'm not going to be happy. They are really playing with fire.

You need more courage and less self-pity.

Do they will want to fight with the NCAA when some school presidents originally were not opposed to the death penalty?

You think fighting the NCAA is a wise decision? I think it will only end in more problems and not allow this chapter in PSU's history to be closed.

This is the main problem. PSU needs to diminish their negative exposure as much as possible right now. The "no publicity is bad publicity" saying is actually the exact opposite for them now. Shrink back and let the storm blow over as much as it can. It will never completely go away but dont make it worse IMO.

They'll vote to accept the decree which will kill the appeal/lawsuit.

Rumors are flying around that several still won't accept it. I'm hoping this us incorrect. I'm no attorney though, so maybe someone us advising them a suit has some teeth.

Does the vote have to me unanimous or a majority?

I'm not sure. I'll look for the answer though. Conference starts in a few minutes.

I don't pity myself. I'm saying that the NCAA is foaming at the mouth and it's not really a great idea to taunt them. This isn't really that difficult to understand.

Any word? Or are they deciding not to shoot themselves in the foot?

I've tried the live feed on several devices and can't get it to stream. If I see a transcript I'll post it.

Penn State BOT meeting

quote:

The Penn State Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting via conference call at 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12. The sole purpose of the special meeting is for the trustees to consider ratification of the binding consent decree imposed by the NCAA and accepted by the University. The public can listen to the meeting at WPSU.org/live online.

ETA: I really wouldn't worry too much about this. I think the BOT is justing doing this to cut off the rogue board members who filed this appeal. If the BOT approves the sanctions, the appeal is worthless (probably is anyway).

Yep I'm an idiot. No wonder the live feed wasn't working.

Glad to save you some frustration. Now, just find out if only a majority is required. If so, they bless the sanctions and this is put to rest -again.
