Anyways, hopefully he crucifies Romney and the establishment.

No way that happens when dad is the VP. Romney needs the Tea Party and the young Libertarian support to energize his campaign. He gets both with because Rand Paul will fall in line now and support Mitt.

Wow, do you have a link to that? I'd like to know what moron says America was wrong for fighting WWII even after we were attacked.

Good move to allow Rand to speak. A better move would be allowing his father some time as well.

Let me rephrase that, that the use of the atomic bomb was wrong( along with the pic of the baby)and that America brought the war on ourselves because of the oil embargo and pearl harbor was a false flag operation.

I think that is a minority view even among the most ardent of the Paul supporters.

And what does any of that have to do with Rand Paul speaking at the convention? Looks like someone missed their meds this morning.

Absolutely nothing. I was simply responding to the previous guy who was acting like Paul supporters didn't want to engage in WW2 even after being attacked. I think that to equate that belief to every Paul supporter is ludicrous because it is only held by a very small minority of Paul's most ardent supporters.

I personally am a big supporter of Rand Paul and helped campaign for him in Kentucky in 2010.

Nobody has ever argued this. I think you are confusing this with the libertarian argument that it was our oil embargo against Japan that provoked their attack. However, no libertarian has argued that we never should have entered the war after the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Either you misunderstood the argument or you are lying intentionally to make libertarians seem kooky.

I've never understood why an "Authorization for the Use of Force" is less valid than something that says "Declaration of War." What is so special about those words that it makes war ok but something else, with the same meaning, is bad?

Because an "authorization of force" is open-ended. It can start by going after the people who attacked us on 9/11 and lead to turning Afghanistan into a Jeffersonian democracy over a decade later. A constitutional declaration of war states an enemy and a goal in order to know when the war is over and does not lead to mission creep.

Hope this helps you understand the constitutional point of view.

Yes, so was I. The comment was added on to yours and meant for the previous guy as well.

So you've gone from proclaiming Ron Paul won every caucus and secretly most primaries and would be the Rep presidential nominee using his double secret probation delegates to having Granny Paul be an important speaker at the convention to now just hoping his son says something mean about Romney?

What the hell are you talking about?

He won two caucuses (Louisiana and North Dakota) and no primaries. His delegates have a majority or plurality in multiple states including Minneosota, Iowa, Maine, and Nevada. He has 20+ delegates in Virginia and a sizable amount in Colorado and Missouri. There are other states I'm missing but nowhere did I ever say he had won every caucus and primary nor that his delegate strategy was secret because it wasn't.

The goal now is to nominate Paul at the convention and he needs 5 states to do that. He has at least 4 and possibly as many as 8.

He didn't win the North Dakota caucus- Santorum won with 39.74% of the vote to Paul's 28.07% of the vote ...

I like RP better than Romney, but this is not going to happen. Romney is now the nominee. Get over it and either 1) Vote for Gary Johnson 2) Vote for Romney 3) Stay home if you're that butt-hurt and view Ron Paul as the one and only "messiah" for the country.

If the goal of many RP delegates is to turn the national convention into the circus that the LA convention was, I hope they find something better to do those days. They should use the national convention to build some working respect with others in the party so that the libertarians and fiscal conservatives can one day have a large coalition to help someone like Rand Paul win the GOP nomination.

Ron Paul did build some steam within the GOP preaching his fiscal/individual freedom principles. But unfortunately, he had too many childish activists who pissed a good bit of that good will away at conventions like Louisiana's.

Me too. This country is running so smoothly, I'd hate to see anything disrupt it at this point.
