Guys-
Our lab of 12 years finally passed away yesterday...and my kids are distraught. Best cure Ive always practiced is to get a new puppy as soon as possible. Does anybody know of a reputable lab breeder around the south I could call to check on new litters? We are looking for a full bred yellow lab (female) with a good pedigree and healthy bloodline...(willing to pay the bucks for the right one) I did a search on here and called a couple of places, with no luck...thanks in advance!!!

grieving is good.

as soon as possible.

don't do it too soon, grieving is healthy, when its time for a new one... i got no problems.

Yeah, let em learn how to get over something. They will just cry later when they remember the old dog

I disagree...

Anytime someone I know loses a pet I refer them to this story. I'm sorry for your loss.

My first and only Lab so far is a British. I got him from Southwind British labs, in Grand Junction, TN. He's been an absolute pleasure so far and has been extremely easy to train. He isn't quite 1.5 yet. Also, he's a little smaller at around 65lbs which is what I wanted.

Another very good breeder is Duckhill Kennels also British in Somerville, TN. It's own and run by Robert Millner who started Wildrose and was the 1st to import Labs from the UK.

Both of these are about 30-45 minutes east of Memphis.

Here is a listing off of craiglist in Jackson, MS. These are absolutely gourgeous pups. Pure white coloration is rare. I have a british white lab that is about 7 now and is one of the best labs I have ever owned.

I have a 3 month old female from Duckhill Kennels. She's been great so far. Very calm and steady for a puppy.

sorry about your loss...

my bitch is in heat right now...(I never plan far enough ahead)

but if I do get her bred they will be due around Christmas(IIRC)...if you can wait that long...

I'm looking to get a pup from her myself...

anyone have a good stud available?

Here is a basic background on her...

Jazz' bloodline has a good mix of champions...these are in no particular order as they appear in her papers....

But I'd be willing to exchange pictures of her and scans of pedigrees with anyone interested...
naturally we'd rather breed with a yellow and not breed with the same exact bloodline...another group of champions from the sire would be the best match
