And so are the Rangers, who have a better system than us.

I am afraid that we will not make a serious move. Maybe some minor deal to solidify the bench and bullpen, but I don't see us getting a top of the rotation starter like we need. The FO has been looking to the future instead of concerning themselves with the present for a while now. If we can trade rape a team like we did to the Astros for Bourn then we will do it, but the last time we gave up top prospects for a player was the deal that shall not be named.

Now we are probably going to overpay some past his prime guy this offseason like we did with Lowe.

I don't think it's because we haven't tried.

Maybe, maybe not. I don't think Wren is willing to give up Teheran or Delgado though, which is what it probably would have taken to get Grienke. The bigger problem is that our farm system pretty much sucks arse right now, so we can't really afford to take a gamble on a rental.

So you think the Dempster for Delgado deal that was reported by numerous outlets was total bullshite?

Wren is all about misinformation from what I have seen, so any time you have various unnamed sources reporting that we are involved in this or that negotiation I take it with a grain of salt. There is a good chance it was Wren himself saying that a deal was imminent in order to get someone to make a serious offer for Dempster and take themselves out of it for Grienke.

Some rival executives believe more and more that the Rays are going to deal James Shields before the Tuesday deadline.

I was having doubts that they were going to move him.

Without question, which is why he's probably pretty expensive.

Nope. At this point I don't believe we're even gonna make a move.

We'll make a move, whether it is an arm or a bat off the bench.

An improvement will be made.

That remains to be seen. An improvement in the FO's eyes doesn't always translate to on the field improvement.

I know we'll make a move but I was referring solely to starting pitching.. which I don't see happening
