haha. Not as a person actually, but I felt like given more time he could have succeeded. I like JJ much better. He went though a period of absolute drought in louisiana talent. I didnt agree with him not getting some JUCO guys to fill the roster or graduate applicants.

I truly believe Jones will have LSU back on the map in a few seasons. Really good chance this upcoming one is going to be rough, so I hope everyone sticks it out with him if it is. Once he starts bringing his own full recruiting classes in, I feel our program will be in great hands.

I have a good feeling about this year's team. I always thought if we could get 3's to fall or if we could just get a few more stops we could be competitive. Hopefully coaching can make that happen, plus a few new pieces that I am excited about.

I have a great feeling about hte future but the present is here and I am excited for it. Already bought my season tickets.

I agree. I think this team has very good possibility to be much better this season. We played most of our SEC games close with the exception of Alabama, Vandy, and Ole Miss.

Yeah, I know there is a good chance that the team will be competitive this year as well. If you are going to have an undersized team and up tempo offense is the way to go and that seems to be what we will do. I'm just saying if teams really make us pay in the paint this year, I hope our fan base will give the guy a little time to build a complete team.

we'll get hurt on by the occasional big man we come up against but i think a more up tempo style gets us into position for a couple more wins than trent ball would have. we'll just have to see how they adapt.

hopefully yonny yones has a rabbit in his hat in terms of adding another big fella, if not o'bryant, godfrey, courtney and ludswag are gonna have to hold it down. curious to see what jones tries to do defensively as well.

Its a double edged sword... If they are beating us in the paint with strength and weight/height, take them off dribble and use your quickness to win.

I really think people look at SEC basketball like they do football... it isn't the case. Teams don't have 7' 300 pound big guys. A 6'8" guy can handle the paint if needed. Very few big guys in the SEC are go to guys. They are garbage men that get rebounds, ally oops, and the occasional post move.

SEC Big men last season

Ole Miss: Murphy Holloway 6'7" 240
Alabama: JaMychal Green 6'8" 240
Arkansas: Devonta Abron 6'8" 255
Auburn: Rob Chubb 6'10" 242
Miss St: Arnett Moultrie 6'11" 230
Vandy: Festus Ezeli 6'11" 255
Florida: Erik Murphy 6'10" 229
Kentucky: Anthony Davis 6'10" 220
Georgia: Donte Williams 6'9" 210
Tennessee: Jeronne Maymon 6'7" 265
South Carolina: Damontre Harris 6'9" 217

Plenty of guys who are only 6'7"-6'9". And a ton of the big guys are tall but skinny. They aren't gonna "bully" us around in the paint.

JOBIII is 6'9" 250 last season as a Freshman.. He could put on even more good weight this offseason with some strength training. He will be fine at 5.

Next year LSU will have a few guys who can match up on these guys. I dont see why people think we will get bullied around.

I think JOB will have a monster year. Trent taught him nothing offensively. He kept doing that gay arse power dribble every time he got an offensive board, he should've just went right back up with it. He also played like he was in the NBA, he always tried to 1v1 all the other guys

His worst habbit last season. He always brought it down. 100% agree that better not continue to happen this season.

It gave time for the defenders to come over and almost always led to a turnover. I'm sure Coach JJ has been working on this habit big time

Well, I would agree with you if these guys were being recruited to play power forward and center. To my knowledge O bryant is the only legit big man who was recruited here to play the 4 or the 5 and he was supposed to be a 4. Most of these guys are 3s and a few are 3/4s. Usually that is because they don't have as much of a post game but are quicker. Yes, I have seen small ball teams do very well, and I do think that can happen at LSU this year. I'm just saying I hope the fan base is supportive if we have a lot of trouble inside due to personnel issues. Jones himself has said we need to add some guys to the interior.
