Yes he was my friend if he knew about it and did nothing. There are so many felonies involved with rape, cover up, not stopping a crime, endangerment to a child, hampering an investigation, conceling evidence, ....it just goes on and on and it is now FACT that he knew about what was happening and aided and abbeded a felon in the eyes of the law.

You do understand everyone who knew will go to jail for any offenses that happened after they knew, right?

A Penn State coach/employee was f#*king underprivilidged kids on Penn State grounds, in the Pen State locker room thru a charitable organization......ALL and I repeat ALL of the people responsible for this oversight knew about it and covered it up so the program could continue to make money and not harm the image of Penn State. AND THEY PAID HIM during this time. When they stopped, they GAVE HIM AN OFFICE on campus to run the charity!!!

And you think they are making it bigger than it really is?

So what is big news to you? This is the single biggest scandal in the history of college sports IMO to ever happen. I think that is threadworthy.

I'm not even sure how a Paterno-nik could continue to defened that position. Freaking amazing that kids were sold out to keep the winning streak alive.

In my opinion, Paterno's records, from the day he was alerted 14 yrs ago, should be stricken from the record books.

All you have to do is think if it were your kid or yourself that was raped and you found out Paterno knew what Sandusky was up to...would you want his statue outside of your college?

Didn't think so.

So you're disputing the part of the Freeh report where PSU decided to supress information after a meeting that included Joe Pa?

If not STFU. It doesn't matter if YOU wouldnt have the balls to do anything. Any functioning human would have to consider the horrible consequences of choosing to do nothing or, in this case, suppressing information to stop the guy. If you cant get right with that then you're one messed up person.

To put in in terms you might better understand: I start showing up at your house every thursday and arse raping you, your neighbor sees what's up but decides to drink a beer instead of telling anyone b/c he's knows you're a douche. Do you think you'd want your neighbor to be held accountable?

This morning, he was in between cussing everyone involved and crying at the same time. At one point, I think the director gave him a courtesy commercial break to regroup and collect himself.

Agreed.

But man, I guess it is pretty hard to accept when someone you idolized your whole life turns out to not only not be as awesome as you thought, but downright scum.

I mean, it aint like they found out JoePa used to smoke a joint or two. The dude, through his actions/inactions, practically facilitated child molestation.

That's a tough pill to swallow I suppose.

It's time for the program to go away until they understand having one is a privilege.

Because they knew we'd all be talking about it afterward.

Jay Paterno's only acceptable answer today was No Comment. Whole thing makes me sick.

I have no idea why I still give this story the time of day anymore, but what do you really expect Jay to say? His dad wasn't the one molesting the boys. What do you really expect 193 year old Joe Paterno to do about this all? People just keep digging for a bigger scandal than there really is.

You definitely need to start posting less.

Have to hope Jay did not know about the allegations/crimes...if he did, then he is to blame too. If he knew nothing, then this whole deal probably has him in shock and is just too much to handle. It is natural from him to be defensive, but he should avoid the media.

It's expected. Very few people want to believe someone they loved and knew could be a party to something like this. It's always he was a nice kid or he stayed out of trouble until he killed his neighbors and burned down their house.
