Anybody see him play in person? His highlights look pretty good considering he was playing in one of the best 4A districts in the state.

rivals shows him as a 2012 recruit huH?

Walkons are always lowly regarded. He better put on 20 pounds and be a good blocker and able to catch out of the backfield if he wants to get some action ahead of the scholarship backs. I am assuming a lack of speed is why he didn't get more recruiting hype.

He was in a 4A district last year. Yes, he can play, and yes he is very fast! Solid player!

Looks to run about a 4.85 40. He doesn't have any wheels.

Thats because he is a 2012 guy. His brother is a receiver for the 2013 class. I think Jon is walking on to LSU idk (preferred walk-on) Jake his younger brother is getting looked at by SMU, Tulsa, ULL...etc.. Jon though is a tough runner probably will become a FB if he gains any more weight he is at 225 or 230 now. Not 198??? Was a combine warrior at STM like a 4.7-4.8 40 and like a +36 inch vertical for a RB!

Just shows how good you need to be to play DI, you see a kid who is the best in your town or region and when they get to the big pond you realize that talent runs deeper than expected.

Umm, where are people getting the slow times from? He ran an electronic 4.54 at one combine, contrary to popular belief, out of high school that is fast, very few guys run 4.4 or 4.3 electronically, and faster than what many of our backs have ran at the nfl combine. He was the mvp of the underclassmen combine where he was hand timed at 4.43, had the best overall measurables. Usually guys that run electronic 4.5's out of high school go on to run in the 4.3 - 4.4 range by the time they graduate.
Why would he bulk up to play fullback? The kid is a pure halfback. Maybe he can have an impact at wide receiver or safety but looks to best suited for halfback. I don't think he will get much bigger than 215. He has great acceleration and shifty. Not sure where the 225 weights are coming from, he was barely 200 when I met him.

I believe germans but just to show what kind of athlete the Juneau boys are, Jake (2013 prospect) finish 7th out of 1243 participants in the Nike Football Sparq Combine.
Juneau
Have seen them play before and both are incredibly fluid and quick athletes. Whether they "play" high D1 I wouldn't think so but ya never know

I am sure he is a great high school athlete, but his lack of college offers means that college coaches/scouts don't project him to be a viable D1 player.
Could they be wrong? Sure
Do I value their opinion (lack of offers) more than anyone on this board? Absolutely
With solid speed, size and determination he will probably top out as a special teams contributor at LSU. But he could prove everyone wrong and be a great testament to overlooked players. More often than not, history wins out.
This isn't meant to be negative criticism, he is far better than I ever could have hoped to be and if I had his ability, I would have worked hard to contribute at LSU as well.

I'm surprised he didn't get an offer from somebody like a La Tech or Houston or Rice. Especially if he has a 3.8 GPA and went to camps.

Any kid that passes up legit scholarship offers to walk on at LSU is not very smart, or getting bad advice.

Perhaps he has Tops and wanted to play at LSU.

His parent probably have money as he went to STM, which isn't cheap.

It's not just an issue of money. Scholarship and walk-on athletes are not treated the same and don't have the same opportunities.
The coaches are not invested in the walk-ons.
Don't know about his offers, but it looks like Tulane, Rice, SMU, etc, were looking at him. If he had offers from these types of schools, he's a fool for walking on anywhere.
