Just started Parks and Rec on Netflix

I have watched 4 episodes. Does it pick up or should I move on?
Swanson is the only funny character on the show so far. I only started it because I got a best of Swanson email and figured it was worth it.

Just skip to season two, it is like an entirely different show.
Yes it is definitely worth it. Great comedy sitcom.

season 1 sucked everyone went through that phase you are going through. i watched 2 episodes of season 1 then didnt watch it again for probably 6 months when someone told me skip to 2 dont bother with 1. just go straight to season 2 you wont be disappointed stick it out

Anytime I'll tell somebody to start watching Parks and Rec, bc it's one of my favorite shows, I tell them to stick it through to episode 6. That's where it starts to get good. Season 2 is much better. It loses one character that is holding the show back.

I don't know about that. Danbranowiz was a good character. IMO part of the problem with season one was Leslie was Michael Scott and Andy wasn't a likable character yet. To say Mark was holding the show back is irresponsible.

Started season 1 sucked at first started season 2 and freaking loved it and now it's my favorite show. I went back to season one and actually enjoyed it. I could see the flaws in season 1.

Season 1 was basically The Office in a different environment. Once they changed that and became their own show, it got awesome

Yup. Just take the advice of everyone in this thread. Season one is pretty worthless. You won't really miss much. Season 2 is the bomb and the writers really realized what they had in each character and used them to perfection. When they really start to use Andy the show goes to a whole new level imo.
