I realize Mexico is our biggest soccer rival, but I have nothing against good Mexican players and the domestic league. I've been a fan of Chicharito since he arrived at OT.
I feel the exact same way.

RUMOR RUMOR RUMOR RUMOR RUMOR
From Twitter: After @soccerex and #4Amigos tonight, let's deal with Falcao/MU. But they HAVE paid an advance as they did with de Gea.

saw that and am really confused. doesn't seem like the best use of money. would surely mean the sale of rooney, chicharito or welbeck.

Does this mean Rooney is gone? If we return to formations with two strikers, he'd have to move to regular central midfield.
It would be tough to realistically play a lineup with Falcao, RvP and Rooney.
I'd rather go after a big name ball-winning midfielder to partner with Cleverley or Carrick, but that's just me.

have the cr7 returning rumors ended or were those just baseless rumors?

The only way it makes sense is if Rooney is on his way out... To have that money tied up in 3 strikers is silly...

They died down after the second leg with RM.

Can Rooney not play in the midfield, or in withdrawn role behind the strikers?

That's where he's been playing, more of a CAM role, this year. But that's been behind one striker.
I guess United could go with a diamond 4-4-2, but that would mean going out and getting a true defensive midfielder. Kagawa and Cleverley would back him up, I guess...but the squad rotates a bunch, as everyone knows.
But the best formation IMO this year has been the 4-2-3-1 with Rooney in the center behind RVP. That gives the likes of Kagawa and even Welbeck chance on the wing without having to be the outside option in a 4-4-2. Adding Falcao, who is not a buy for the future by any stretch, would really complicate matters.
I really thought the moves this offseason would be selling Nani and buying a stronger midfielder. After getting buckets of goals with RvP and Rooney in their respective roles, why change that? You have a few more years before you have to start thinking about replacements.
As much as I like Falcao, I don't think this is a smart move. And I was a huge supporter of the RvP buy this season.

odds went from 11/1 to 5/2 putting us as the front runners to sign falcao.
i'm still undecided on how i feel about this.
