Ends 1-0 Anzhi
Not impressed with Anzhi at all over both legs. They've spent way too much to be this toothless.

We lost 1-0. It wasn't a very good performance, but I don't think anyone was expecting much with this makeshift squad. Lucky not to have surrendered more goals.
Anzhi jumps to first in group.

Young Boys currently lead Udinese at half 0-1. If Young Boys win they will be level with Liverpool on points. A Udinese win would put them in 2nd, Liverpool in 3rd. A draw would keep Liverpool in 2nd.

Henderson was decent in the holding role. Spreading the ball to the wings and a high pass accuracy is all that is expected from that role. He had a good work rate, but his he did frick up our lone clear chance on goal.
All around absolutely no dynamic play, clear lack of any resemblance of cohesion and probably the worst front 3 I've seen in at least 5 years (would rather N'Gog in there) made way for an atrocious game.

ETA: The only thing I like about N'Gog is pronouncing N'Gog. I could say it all day.

So, just got in and recorded the match... I know the outcome but it sounds like its not even worth watching... correct?

Depends on what you're looking for, it certainly wasn't very fun to watch. We never even threatened to score, minus a ball their keeper spilled that fell at Joe Cole's worthless feet. But I was really excited to watch Conor Coady get his first start with the first team. I keep hoping a youngster from Liverpool will step up and start contributing in a meaningful way for this club. I want it to be him and he looked pretty good today all things considered.

Good point, I forgot he was playing today... What role did Coady play in the midfield?
Its been a long week, I think I will go get my drink on tonight and save the game for tomorrow...

When Suso came on he dropped deep in the midfield, but before that he was playing higher up making some smart passes, playing guys through...it just hurt him a little than nobody in the final third could create any opportunities at all and usually just gave it away cheaply. From what I've read, I think Rodgers likes him deeper in the holding mid role and I can see why.

Does anyone have a link to the Shelvy free kick? I tried describing it but it just doesn't do it justice.

No, I would rather not relive this.

You have to be able to laugh at that. Just one of those moments.

Think Cisse's goal against Chelsea, but from the center on a free kick and closer to corner than the goal.

Closer to the corner? As in like 20 yards off?

Yes,

From the match report. I can't find any video. Again if Cisse takes that same shot, it would have been close to the corner. Someone said another 5 yards back and it would have been a throw in.
