Clean Sheet was a positive... no one hurt...
I didnt see Gerrard's performance as that bad... I think he tried a little too hard to make things happen, because Stoke were being Stoke... possession wasn't the problem today, we had plenty of it and couldnt make the most of the few opportunities we had...

To make things happen against Stoke you need to take shots from the top of the box. Breaking down a team that sets its midfield line 18 yards out is never going to work. I would have thought a player like Gerrard would know better, but maybe Rogers told them to keep working to break them down. Who knows...

Gerrard did attempt at least 2 from outside the box. One was a great shot and almost went in.

Didn't notice. The only thing I remember him doing was surging into the box at 3/4 Stoke players and attempting to touch the ball off to someone else, at which point he lost possession almost every single time.

early on he had one nice rip that the keeper saved (40 seconds in)... I just think he was trying to get things going... its not like we had problems getting the ball back... I love Suso and Sterling but they werent making much happen... I know thats a tall order for those little guys against Stoke...
Anyway, we need 3 pts against Reading...

See I got the opposite impression. Suso was constantly surging forward getting the ball to people in dangerous positions. He also beat out a few midfielders on his own. I thought it was one of his best games so far.

I think he did fine overall, just nothing that ever seemed too threatning, with the exception of that one ball over the top that was a little too far for Agger to get on to...
It def seems like he and Suarez are developing an understanding, but it seemed a bit off today...

didn't get to see anything on the game…. we win, draw, or….?

0-0 draw. They really controlled the game, but could do nothing in the final 1/3, which isn't all that surprising.

Suso was good. I thought Sterling was poor and shouldn't have started the match.

I think at some point the young guys are going to hit a wall... That said, I think they held their ground against these big goons...

Sterling tried to do way too much by himself. Taking on multiple defenders by himself only to give up possession, shooting when he should have passed. He's young, and these are typical mistakes from naive youth. He'll learn from this, but this is the risk of placing so much burden upon a young man's shoulders.

Yeah, if we had proper depth they would be brought along slowly... But like you said, invaluable experience...

He shouldn't have started against Stoke because of his size and their physicality. Brendan may have wanted to throw him to the wolves though as a crash course in learning the importance of throwing your weight around and dealing with heavier physical fullbacks. I thought he was awful in the first 15, getting pushed off of the ball left and right. As the game went on he started to learn how to counter it, and I thought he did well doing so, but he should have been subbed in the last 20 minutes.

Liverpool U21s are winning right now against Middlesborough. Morgan just scored.

Huge not being suspended

However, referee Lee Mason has since confirmed that he saw the incident at the time and chose not to take any action against the former Chelsea player. Under FA rules, that means Huth cannot now be charged retrospectively.
