Gerrard was shite today outside of a select few moments. Suarez should have scored on his run.

That is unacceptable. His age is catching up with him. He is a shadow of his former self.

The game was thoroughly disappointing. Stoke parked the team bus in front of the goal and Agger, Johnson, Sterling and Suarez had good chances to score that they all missed.

My sunshine pumping thoughts:

A CLEAN SHEET. What have they done with my back line? I thought this was a Liverpool defense? Yes, I know, it was just Stoke. But their's is an offense that is centered around capitalizing on individual error (aka lob it up and hope for someone to get lazy in man marking Crouch). Basically, the defense provided a small silver lining.

Suso was simply brilliant. Terrific game.

Steven was a possession losing machine. Other than that gorgeous pass to Glen, he was awful. I like the positions he's putting himself in up front, but he has to make better decisions with the ball.

Sterling really came into his own in this game. He was absolutely man handled in the first 15 minutes, but settled in and did a great job of learning how to use his body against such a physical defense. He grew up a lot today. Hopefully he can take that physicality he showed and grow with it. He needs to, considering his size.

Was impressed again with wisdom. He's going to be quite the player one day.

Overall disappointing, but not void of positives. The defense was much improved (admittedly against a pretty sub par offense, but beggars can't be choosers right?)

Oh also, Joe Cole is the worst player in the entire squad.

I wonder how often stoke ends up with 0:0 games compared to other clubs? Probably pretty high

At least Downing moves into the attacking third. What the hell was Joe doing next to Joe Allen at the end of the game when the rest of the squad was up top?

To me its six of one, half dozen the other. They're both horrible players.

Nah Cole actually didn't play poorly. He was in an advanced role until Assaidi came on. At that point Gerrard pushed further forward and Cole dropped a bit. LFC had 5 attacking players. Not all of them can be in the final third. Good tactics for the most part. They were camping at that point though, so nobody looked good.

Oh I didn't notice the switch when Assaidi came on. Makes sense. I had no idea why he was sitting deeper than Joe Allen. I guess that's what happens when you show up to Finns still drunk from the night before.

Yea they put 9 men behind the ball and our whole offensive line dropped significantly. Even in possession Suarez was receiving the ball near midfield.

yall see this fun little comment from downing?

I personally think the media are overblowing it a bit but.. probably should keep your mouth shut stu.

quote:

"Bravery is a lot of things," commented Downing in response to the Rodgers claims. "If you want tackling, running around bustling, that obviously is not my game. But bravery is also taking the ball when you are losing a game and creating things, which I try to do.

Running around isn't your game? You don't run while playing football?

Go frick yourself Stewart Downing.
