I think it's plain and clear, but I work with some people who don't know their shite.
Thanks for your help!

I prefer raw fish, either in rolls or on rice, with minimal sauce. For me it is Sushi Yama all the way...

I think I need to say Ichiban, because Friday night we went to Yama and had a 20 minute wait at 6:30. I don't like having to wait...

Really? In surprised by the answers. I went to Yama once and the service was horrendous. The sushi was pretty good but probably didn give it a fair chance. Maybe I'll have to try again sometime

that's not the question of who has better service.
ETA: or more tables. Besides if you have wait there, it's because it's the fricking best.

I made that statement because votes for Yama increases demand and demand increases wait times...

ill just say that Koto is better than both of them.

I've had the same problem about 50% of the time I go there. The sushi is definitely more authentic at SY and it's definitely really good, but I prefer the ambiance of Ichiban and I've liked everything I've had there.

to say either one of these is far better than the other(or its not even close) is a little overboard. these are 2 of the 3 best places to get sushi in the city imo

If you aren't looking to spend a lot go to Ichiban...
If money isn't a factor and want the best sushi in town by far, go to Yama.
All other answers leading you to believe otherwise should be disregarded.

ichiban is not cheap. yama and ichiban are in the same price category.
if you arent looking to spend a lot, go to wahada.

Best actual fresh, raw fish - Yama
Most creative rolls with different sauces plus the options of a bar and a hibachi - Ichiban.
Like 'em both. Yama is, by far, the better pure sushi place.

Spend a lot? Is this place not "all you can eat" anymore? I thought it was like 15$ for lunch and like 20$ for dinner. I'd spend more than that easy just ordering rolls at a usual sushi place

Out of the two from the OP neither is all you can eat that I know of.

I know for a fact Yama was all you can eat at least when it first opened. I haven't been since Feb tho.
