I posted a few weeks ago about pulling a decent size performance boat with my Toyota Tacoma TRD and decided to buy a new truck. Went with a 2011 F-150 ecoboost crew cab. I let meauxjeaux2 drive it last night and he was impressed with the power and torque. XLT package was removed and replaced with all leather and radio was removed and replaced with Pioneer Touch Screen with backup camera. Here is a quote from Car and Driver.

"Acceleration is almost diesel-like in its relentlessness, and the truck has more than enough in reserve for passing maneuvers, even with a trailer behind. Capable of tugging 11,300 pounds or carrying 3060 in the bed—both best in the segment—the F-150 EcoBoost managed Ford’s trailers with ease, chugging along smoothly in top gear on uphill highway sections."

Congrats. I'm starting to think a Ford will be my next truck purchase.

Friday will be my first time pulling a boat with my ecoboost. Its a 22' Bay Stealth and we're running from BR to Venice. Hoping it pulls like a champ

I pull my bass boat with my frontier...it will not go past 60mph and is slow to get moving. I pull my dads bay boat with his truck, and it doesn't even know its there. Diesel's are a boss.

my dad has the 4.6 with a 3.55 rear. pulls up 21 foot xpress fine.

my grandpa has the new 5.0 with a 3.55 and pulls great. makes 18-22 without a trailer. Don't think i'd pay for the eco boost after driving the 5.0

That pic is a Super Cab. Did you get a Crew Cab or Super Cab?

One of my coworkers has an FX4 with the Ecoboost and he can spin all 4 tires. That little V6 on steroids kicks arse!

Keep us posted on how it pulls. I've had my eye on those.

I'm spoiled by mine. If I can't run 75+ while towing something AND it must down shift on overpasses then I don't want it.

What's the fuel economy on one of those things?

If you set the bar low, it's easy to exceed expectations.

i know my grandpas 5.0 makes just as good or better than the v6. I think on the highway, for whatever reason, it makes slightly better. not bashing, but to each his own

Havent pulled with my new 5.0 yet but I'm getting 17.5 mixed city/highway. Took it on a trip and got 22 at 60mph on open highway. I'm anxious to trailer a decent load.

I wouldn't recommend that with any truck as trailer tires are only speed rated to 65mph. Having said that i get passed all the time by trucks pulling campers that fast. I usually tow around 60-64 mph max. To the OP. Congrats on the truck it really is amazing what the payloads on half tons are these days.

My mpg has been around 13 for the past few months, but I'm not the best driver

I went with the 5.0, but I've always liked raw power over a tuned up smaller engine. You won't hear me hate on the Eco though.
