Trying to decide between these two in Gulf Shores area. I have never played Glen Lakes, and Lost Key is right by condo. What are the conditions of the courses? Thanks. Not really considering other courses due to wanting to play either of these.

Were the greens bad, or what was so bad

I'm assuming you're playing the links at Glen Lakes?

Probably be more enjoyable than Lost Ball.

Greens were shitty, they were digging up like 8 different parts of the course to replant. The tees, fairways, and bunkers were in bad shape...I mean, you name it, it was bad

ETA: the food in the clubhouse after the round was good

Yeah it would be links. What kind of shape is the course normally in? like peninsula style manicured greens or more local country club.

Has anyone played soldier creek in a while? I played it the first few years after it opened and it was excellent.

Ive never played it or at least I don't remember playing it.

My favorites are Peninsula, Kiva Dunes, and Kraft Farms. All very nice...but pricey.

I've never played kiva,, but the other two are in my favorites. Have to have a morning tee time though and the others are a little high

Soldiers Creek is a nice course, but I like Glenlakes better. Rock Creek is another good option.

A group of us go every April and play 4 days.

Always play...

Rock Creek on our way to GS.
Peninsula-my favorite
Kiva-sometimes the gnats are terrible but I like the course. Lots of sand and water.

Only played Kraft Farms for second time in 10 years and would like to make it an every year course.

If I'm driving that far from the beach, I'm going to play Steelwood.

We only play it on the way in. Reminds me of the bluffs with all the hills. Also it is only $60

DO NOT go to Soldier Creek. The course has a fun layout and we used to play it often. But they have let it go. The last couple times we went it was in the worst shape of any course I have ever played. Howell park is kept up better. And the clubhouse guys will lie to you and say it is in good shape when you call.
