Apparently it's a charter school in North BR.

Somehow, I don't see a kid from Australia going here. If he lands at Dunham, the fix is in.

Well he said Patrick was Simmons' Godfather, and I thought he was making a Butch Pierre joke.

Are you saying that is true? David Patrick is Ben Simmons' Godfather?

Man I really really want to land Martin in this class. And the kid from Scotlandville. Anything else would be gravy.

Same here. Not sure of what David Taylor's intentions are in terms of college ball, but a class built on those three would be incredible.

When you start looking deeper (classes of 14 and 15), the potential is great.

Basketball recruiting works like that. Gotta get to them, their parents, and their AAU coaches early.

If an 8th-grader is 6'8", then yes, we go after him. He's not going to shrink.

2015 would make him a to-be soph. With the current nature of college hoops recruiting, that's not early by any definition of the word.

Remember when people thought it was a coincidence that Collins re-classified the same day that Issac failed out? I hope this works out that well too. Kind of weird that this stuff was out there before Pangos and then Simmons camp played dumb about possibly coming to the US for HS. I like that.

Would be awesome to land this guy. One at a time though. Need Martin in this class badly.

Unless Isaac just blows up at BRCC and becomes an All-American, I can't see LSU recruiting him again. In fact, after the 2012 class, I think junior college players will be a rare occurence.

Update on Simmons from Rivals. Doesn't mention any schools, just talks about his talent.

Making waves

Now that we've had a few weeks for it to sink in, Ben Simmons performance at the Pangos All-American Camp is even more impressive. The 15-year-old Australian was far from home, didn't know anyone and was one of the youngest players. It didn't stop the 6-foot-8 forward. He hit jumpers, he slashed to the rim, he handled the ball and he played with poise reserved for much older players. When it comes time to rank the class of 2015, it's going to be hard to put anybody ahead of him.

Basketball recruit Ben Simmons

Future Mock Lottery picks

10. Ben Simmons, 2015, Melbourne (Aus.)

The lone 2015 prospect in our mock draft, Simmons was arguably the best prospect at the Pangos All-American Camp in early June. The Australia native runs the floor well, knocks down perimeter shots and attacks the rim with aggressiveness.

USA beats Australia for U-17 Gold

These two will be LSU recruits in the future, in my opinion:

quote:

Dante Exum and Ben Simmons were two of the best players in the tournament for Australia, but while Exum did manage to score 21 points Simmons was shut down by the biggest front court he saw in the event.
