Favorite Emo/Screamo Bands

I don't deny liking some emo (or "screamo", in some cases) bands over the last 10 years or so. Even though I don't listen to them much now, at one time I enjoyed several songs from:
Hawthorne Heights
Taking Back Sunday
The Juliana Theory
My Chemical Romance (maybe/maybe not "emo"; they publicly rejected the "emo" label, but damn sure looked emo)
What are some of the Music Board's favorite bands of this genre?
(...and FTR, I'm not an "emo" person by any stretch of the imagination)

Early "screamo"/post-hardcore was the cream of the crop...Hopesfall, Thrice, Poison the Well, Brand New, Thursday, Glassjaw
Thrice has had a great career though and their maturation is apparent when scrolling through the discography.
Honorable mentions go to Senses Fail, Circle takes the Square, and Alexisonfire.
Of course, "screamo" is a very broad sweeping stroke and it can be argued that all of these bands do or do not belong in the overall genre

"Emo" around the mid-nineties is completely different then what the mainstream considered emo at and after the turn of the century.
Favorite emo - Still Life
Favorite screamo - Iconoclast

Only thing I like that is remotely close to this is the Misfits, and I'm sure some screamo death metal kid will tell me that they aren't proper definition of it

I loved Taking Back Sunday and Brand New in highschool.
I can't hardly listen to it much anymore. Well I can still enjoy Brand New at times

I always think of Sebadoh as one of the original emo bands (before that label was thrown around).
I liked Jawbreaker and Sunny Day Real Estate, and I guess... Jets to Brazil
Other than that, never really had much time for the genre

Misfits
Well...Misfits predate the genre by nearly 2 decades, and they are a punk band, so...some similar elements but not really fitting the mold.

Sure, these people exist, but so does stereotype propagation...paging HeadChange

Yeah well I was a little older than "high school" when TBS was gaining popularity.
But to your point, I don't listen to it anymore although some songs are good every once in awhile.

Thursday used to be my favorite band. Saw them at the Warped Tour in Dallas one year and they were dominating in the rain.
Finch is another band that hasn't been mentioned. They were ahead of their time and probably would be more successful now.
Bayside is a very good emo band that has been around for awhile.
Also Saves the Day is kind of emo. Another very good screamo band that hasn't been mentioned is Silverstein. And A Thorn for Every Heart. I think that is it.

i always thought that AFI was the best band to come out of this movement of bands. they are eerily similar to a rockabilly band that i listen to called tiger army.
