Looking for some predictions for today's games. I may or may not be putting money down and I wanted to see what you guys think. Will ze Germans take it easy being already safely through? Hopefully not. I would much rather see Port/Neth go through for the tournaments sake. Greece is bad enough. I could see the Dutch breaking out today and scoring a bunch of goals. But that means they probably give up a bunch as well w/ that shite defense of theirs. Thoughts?

Germany 3 - Denmark 1
Netherlands 4 - Portugal 2

Looking for some magic from KNVB.

I predict Ronaldo will continue his streak of near misses at goal. Although I hope i'm wrong - he's pretty cool to watch when he's on.

ETA: Germany vs. Denmark 2-1
Portugal vs. Netherlands 2-3

Do they drop Van Bommel or De Jong? One of them has to go right? VDV needs to be in there.

After what happened to Russia, I do not see Germany taking it easy today. They go for blood early and take control.

The Dutch fight for pride and win or draw with a lackluster Portugal.

I hope the Dutch win by two and Germany is victorious. It'll be interesting to see the KNVB lineup with regards to van bommel and van der vaart etc.

ETA I'd rather them drop de jong for vdv

Going to be a high powered day. I think the German and Netherlands sides take it to their opponents just for the sake of moving through and keeping a high momentum. Nothing gets you ready for the next round like stomping your last opponent.

Netherlands better. They're out if the don't win by at least 2 goals.

how fricked up is it that both of these matches run simultaneously?

They still need to win or draw to advance. If somehow Denmark and Portugal win, the Germans are eliminated.

I really hope the dutch go through but will be interesting to see how they incorporate Hunteelar and VDV - insane thats he's nearly on 100 caps at 29

I think they should drop Affelay and Van Bommel and stick RVP on he left.

Dont see the Danes doing anything against Germany, should be comfortable for them.

I'd like to see them play MVB or NDJ in front of the back four with Sneijder a little higher up in the holding spot. VDV and Robben on the wings and RVP behind Huntelaar. Portugal's best players are on the wings, not in the middle, so they shouldn't need 2 def midfield players to compete. Should be a fun open game.

Sorry for all the acronyms.

Germany 3-1

Portugal 3-2

Germany won't mess around and has its eye on the prize.

The Dutch will be pressing the entire game which opens them up way too much to CR and Nani. I think Portugal has a couple of goals on counter attacks where the Netherlands aren't able to recover defensively.
