Xbox Killed by lightning---> Get it repaired or buy new one?

Our transformer blew out Monday night. Now my box won't turn on at all. Any troubleshooting ideas?
It's about a 2 year old model. Should I buy a new one or is it something that can be fixed rather easily?
ETA- It's the 250 gig box if that matters

I would just remove the hard drive (if it's one of those) purchase another one, recover Gamtertag (if you have one) and transfer data onto that machine.

take out hd. buy cheap slim with the 4 gb. insert old hd and recover gamertag. thats what i did. youtube for hd instructions if need be.

Try plugging your Xbox into a friends power brick. If it turns on just buy another power supply on eBay
