No, I’ve got no problem with a person leaving after the game. I likely would have done the same. What I don’t get is being so angry at the people who DID stay to cheer Stony Brook. I can’t imagine that even bothering me and I was shocked people were upset the next day and I’m even more shocked people are obviously still pissed about it almost a week later. Y’all have some serious anger issues. Get a dog or something. It’ll help you relax.

I get under your skin pretty good huh?

I find your envy of those of us who support the baseball team over and above just buying an occasional game ticket amusing. And a bit sad.

This is in contrast to your admitted past additional support of the LSU basketball program. I admire and congratulate you for doing so. I sure don't resent it or am jealous of it and make fun of you for doing so as you do of my additional support for the baseball program.

just my 2 cents (not that anyone cares)....I love LSU baseball just as most people here do. I also love the game of baseball. I hated to see LSU lose, but I respect the opponent that beat us. Stony Brook was simply better.

As much as I hate to see it at the Tigers expense, looking back on that series I really enjoyed watching SB play the way they did. They played smart, fast, and for the most part very fundamental. And obviously they knocked the ball all over the yard on us. We've not seen a whole lot of that in Baton Rouge lately. That's the part that angers me. I get angry to see another team play that way because I feel like LSU should have a team to play that way year in and year out. I'm not going to hold that against SB for coming in here and beating us like that though. They deserved it and I'll root for them in the CWS.

Now, saying all of this...if this would've been another SEC school or an in-state rival I don't think I would feel nearly as good about them taking a victory lap, nor do I think they would have.

Yet no one has said this. They said the people who stayed were good sports, not that those who left were bad sports. Bad sports would've stayed and thrown piss bombs.

Why the double standard?

I've read numerous posts that insinuated if you didn't stay or had a negative opinion about the idea of staying that you were a classless fan.

Some in this thread.

As usual, Baloo nails it. Best, most concise post on the subject. No one says LSU fans who didn't stay are bad, but those who continue to wet the bed and soil themselves because some LSU fans applauded some obscure team for advancing to Omaha do have some issues.

I wonder how the players felt about seeing the fans high five the other team after they stuck the knife into LSU's bid for Omaha?

Probably pretty confused.

Sorry, Elle...
Those comments about your wife and the Sonic were sarcastic hyperbole.
If you had gone...
Nevermind.

why didnt everyone stick around after app state came in here and kicked our arse on that sunday afternoon?
Some fans DID "stick around." Not everyone, just as not 'everyone' at the SB final game stayed.

And whether you agree or not, a winning game which sends a team to Omaha does mean more than a February game.

1) no need to apologize
2) learn the definition of hyperbole. there was no embellishment in your attempt.

They didn't just applaud them, they were cheering and high giving after they beat the team that they are supposedly "fans" of.

Doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but I guess it makes those people feel better because they have "class" for high fiving and cheering for the team that stuck the dagger into their season.

As many ,if not more posts have insinuated that if someone DID stay and congratulate Stony Brook they are weak, not competitive 'not a real LSU fan'.

I know if I were on the team I'd have a pretty big "wtf?" look on my face.

My season just got ended by the other team, and now the "fans" of my team are cheering and high fiving them as they take a victory lap.

Weird.
