Damian Williams is a QB out of Archbishop Rummel (Metairie, La.). He has some offers from schools like KState, Southern Miss, Tulane and Nebraska. TCU is now starting to show him some interest apparently. Attached is his film, kind of reminds me of Byron Leftwich. He is apparently 6'1" and 215 lbs. What do you guys know about him?

He's really good. Been starting since week 8 of his freshman season. Very physical, with a strong arm, and decent mobility. Also has a lot of heart. Played pretty much on one leg due to injury in the 2nd round of the playoffs last year, and beat a very good Acadiana team.

Any chance LSU would be looking at him or is LSU shutting down QB recruiting with Rettig and Jennings? Would LSU recruit a 6'1" QB or would he be deemed to short?

Probably too short because Miles has never heard of Drew Brees

Is this a common argument on this board because it is on the TCU board?

Probably not. I'm sure they would've offered him already if they were going to do so.

I doubt we add another QB after Rettig and Jennings

You need your own sticky, bro. You come on here at least once a week with the the same threads, just different names.

Lol, yeah pretty much. I try to pass on information about LSU when I see it but usually I see a thread already about it when I do get on here.

If he were really 6'1" he probably wouldn't be too short, but several paysite admins have said he's clearly under 6'. Either way pretty sure we are done after landing our two studs.

1. might add someone who PLAYED QB in high school, who will switch to safety or WR.

2. will not add a player to play QB. those two are plenty.

Big arms, runs extremely hard for a QB, so there could be potential at other positions. Rummel doesn't exactly have the most advanced passing game, so how well he would adjust to a college playbook is something i can't really say.

Are you guys still looking at some Ruston boys, like Devin Price?

I don't know for sure because the TCU staff is so secretive but I have not heard any of the Rustin players mentioned lately for 2013 recruiting. TCU just picked up a couple of safeties in the last few days so it probably is unlikely they would offer Devin Price. Those 2 safeties were two of TCU's earliest offers. One big change from past years is TCU really emphasizing DFW recruiting this year with the move to the Big12. 7 of the 9 recruits are from the DFW area.

It seems right now probably the two biggest names out of Louisiana that TCU is trying to get are Duke Riley and Ryan Hoefeld.

For other people, I should have a better idea towards the end of July as they have some camps going right now where they are evaluating players like Williams. However, I am hoping they take a hard look at the sleeper DE Demeatre Casey.

All of the Casey boys are freak athletes. I coached a couple. Richie(WR at LaTech) was so fast that in jr high I could play a tight 5-3, blitz the CB(lightning blitz) and he'd be able to cover the TE and WR from his safety spot good times
