To take the crowd out of it? I saw this more w/Ore. State than Stony Brook... A couple of times, when LSU would get a hit or two, he would go to the mound. He did it several times which looked like he was trying to slow down "Mo."

It's part of the game.

Like faking a injury against the Ducks Offense.

Yes, and it was a good, perfectly ethical strategy.

you mean to settle down his pitcher, like what an LSU coach would do?

happens in every level of baseball.

He wasn't settling down his pitcher on a few of them.. He was taking the crowd out of the game but.. as some of you have said.. it's part of the game. PM was starting to get P.O'd about it

there was a point where LSU got consecutive walks and the crowd got really loud.

then the Stony Brook coach came out and settled down his pitcher knowing that the next guy would be so flustered by his mound visit that he'd automatically hit into a 6-4-3 double play.

and it worked perfectly for them.

Our crowd was not rattling those guys no matter what. They almost seemed to thrive on it.

We couldn't hit the damn ball anyway, so what does it matter.

This is part of baseball. It's what coaches do.

Stony Brook had NO pressure. No one expected them to do anything. All the pressure was on LSU.

LSU averaged about 4 hits a game.

More like calling a TO in basketball when the other team is on a run.
