Need a new one, looking at both brands but leaning to the Husky. Only residential use. Tks. GEAUX TIGERS!

I have the Troy Built, straight shaft. Pretty solid, but don't depend on this whole bump feed BS. Get you an ugly head or something and it's a great trimmer.

Own both a Echo and Troy Built.

Echo by a landslide. Have used my friends Husquvarna and it's on par with the Echo.

I have a Husq. blower that my dad gave me that has to be damn near ten years old. Still starts everytime.

I bought a used echo weed eater from the pawn shop a couple months ago. I like it and it runs great everytime.

I have a Troy built and it's ok not great but it's cranked every time.

My next one will be a stihl.

The pro's that work in my area here in Austin all use Echo trimmers and blowers. I accidentally noticed this and then started paying more attention, and I've only seen a few rare exceptions and those guys looked like small scale operations. Hope that helps.

I have always used Echo at my house. I have one right now that was a year or two old before Katrina, sat under 6ft of water for a couple of days, and still runs perfectly today

I have used both Shindaiwa and Echo at work. In my experience, Shindaiwas typically have more power to them, but run just as good as any Echo. They are more expensive, but good machines. If I was just cutting residential stuff I would get an Echo

I bought a Stihl and gave my Echo to my brother. Echo was good but my Stihl will cut down a tree (or crawling jasmine).
