dual-threat quarterback Anthony Jennings is the 17 commitment to the 2013 Lsu class. Could and would someone please explain why would we ever go to a dual threat QB ever again.

Tebow? Cam? RGIII?

It works sometimes...

ETA: we had a bad run with JJ when Saban figured out he was actually only a single threat QB

Look at the recivers we are picking up and that is because we have some passing QB's. go back to the run first, second and third downs with a QB and back to JJ we come.

Down on a recruit before he ever signs a letter of intent. Only at LSU. Greatest fans in the world.

just tring to figure the logic in going down that path again. Lsu has to good of a running game without needing a running qb.

he's listed as a dual threat on Rivals but on 247, which seems to be the go to recruiting site these days he is listed as a pro-style QB.

My opinion of "LSU game plan" has always been: we only pass to open up the run.

Look at how many top schools want this kid. He's a solid weapon to have on your team.

JJ was bad.
But, Ryan Perriloux (sp?) was pretty damn good on the field. If he would've stayed, you might have a different opinion of dual threat qb's.

What's amazing to me with this commitment is the last 8 have been from out of state. What's up with that?

I hope you realize JJ was made into a dual threat QB and did not come off natural for him. JJ mostly threw the ball in high school. Given that, I just let things play out and hopefully a Gerrard Randal or Jennings tear it up on the field.

Miles has alway done very well recruiting and it is good to see some big time recruits from out of state give lsu and early look.
