I love that his "floor" is Blake Griffin on offense and Marcus Camby on defense. That's still a top 5 big in the league (healthy Tyson Chandler circa 2008, for example)

There’s a chance that when he hangs up his sneakers we’ll be arguing that he was better than MJ.

C'mon now.

I would be a lot more excited about reading this if it wasn't by a hornets blog site.

I was telling a friend this yesterday. For as much as we talk about Davis' lack of offensive game, he's probably equal to Griffin right off the bat, and way better defensively. Hopefully Sportscenter will devote as much time to AD as they do Griffin and get us some nationally televised games.

Good read. I hope the hype doesn't get over blown tho. I remember a certain RB coming to the Saints that was suppose to revolutionize the position and rush for 1500 and receive for 1000. Didn't work out so well. Not saying Davis will be Bush. I think Davis will be all that everyone thinks he'll be. I am just hoping the hype doesn't reach a level that can't be reached.

the same blog site, mind you, that deemed the franchise DOOMED when the hornets beat golden state. set the team back 10 years, according to their twitter, IIRC.

fricking jackasses. i refuse to read that site anymore after those comments.

You do realize that there are different writers on that site, many with different opinions on that matter?

Also, I don't know if his floor is Griffin on offense. As much as I despise Griffin, the guy is insanely explosive. I don't think Davis is as explosive as BG, but I think he'll do a lot of other things a lot better. He's already better defensively, for sure.

Also, Griffin is in LA, even if its just the Clippers. LA, NY, CHI players are going to get hyped.

That's all he does offensively, though. Tyson Chandler was good at throwing down lobs, as well, but I think we call all agree that he is offensively flawed.

Also, I still think it's garbage that Griffin won the Slam Dunk competition by completing a run of the mill dunk over a corner of the hood of a car. I wonder how much Hyundai paid the NBA to give him the award.

Plus Griffin has a grown man's body. He can bang around and absorb punishment.
