Just bought a 2012 Silverado. I got the LS..it's all I could afford, back off. I'm pretty happy with it so far. The listed MPG is 19 on the highway. They said I would probably get better than 19. It looks like the LTs get a little better probably because of the 6 speed tranny compared to the 4 speed in the LS. Thoughts?

You should remove the "i got the LS" and this statement is gold.

I have yet to get the rated mpg in any vehicle I've driven. Not even close actually. My truck supposedly gets 21 highway. I got 18-19 once, with cruise control on 70 on interstate for the entire tank. Supposed to get like 18 city, I can't get more than 13 or 14 around town.

Congrats man! I have a 2011 Silverado LT and it averages 14-15 in the city... I like it and didn't buy it for the gas mileage.

Not sure how much improvement has been done to fuel mileage in 4 years but I have an '08 Z71 that said 18-19 on the sticker...my average since I bought it...or at least what it tells me is...15.7

Mine is mostly interstate between work and home during the week so maybe that is why it is a bit more. The rest is some city and farm driving pulling shite on weekends and helping a friend out

Damn. Not bad.

eta: I wasn't pulling anything but made it from Rayville to just south of Waco on one tank. Don't know how but it averaged 19-20mpg on that trip
