Sorry if Germans

So everyone is predicting our roster for this upcoming year and is including Gordon and we don't even know if he will stick around. If there's speculation of him leaving we will select Austin Rivers, even though we can match any offer given to him.

Gordon can't leave if we want him.

He is a RESTRICTED Free Agent

Is that enough emphasis on restritced?

The key word here is “restricted.” The Hornets can match any offer and pretty much will match any offer. Short of some other team offering a max deal he’ll be a Hornet.

If we don't offer him a qualifying offer by the end of the month, he's unrestricted (unlikely). Same if we offer it and pick it up before he signs.

If we offer such a deal, he's restricted until he signs that deal or another one from us. We'd like this QO to be something he won't sign if we want him long term, so minimal.

If he signs that deal, that's his contract. It can be renegotiated or he can play it out.

While restricted, we can match any offer made for him if we do it withing 3 days of it being made. No, there are no `secret' offers. If we don't match (or exceed?), he can take that deal, but he's not unrestricted (I think).

I would expect a slightly discounted price with his former injury problems. I can't believe he will take a very cheap qualifying offer when he knows what it is like to suffer with injuries. The chance to sign a solid guaranteed contract will be too good to pass up.

I doubt anyone offers some type of max deal.

I don't think anyone will offer him more than 50 mil, which we offered, he's a douche.

yea, my reason for saying is that in no way is he going to get over 50 mill or even match that, he should of just accepted it when we first offered. I get he wants to test the market but it's basically greed, he wants more but is not going to get it.

This topic was discussed before the deadline to resign players, before the trade deadline, and throughout the rest of the season. Catch up. The bandwagon is leaving

I'm not sure why the guy should be criticized for testing the market. This is the NBA and teams sometimes make crazy offers.

I bet you'd be a douche if you were in his position. Would you really turn down $8 million if you not only thought you could get it, but thought that was what you were worth? It's not like he's holding out to get more money, he's just using the system that was mutually agreed to by players and owners.
