My biggest gripe with permanent opponents is not that we play Florida every year

It's the lack of playing other eastern schools. Missouri comes into the league next year and with the current format, the last SEC west school to get Missouri, could realistically not play in Missouri until 2023. It is utterly ridiculous that we don't get to travel to the same SEC school but once every 11 years.

Before the additional teams, with the schedule being what it was, every senior got to see LSU play every other team in the SEC, and a student that stuck around 5 years was able to travel to every stadium in the SEC. That gap between playing the same team is far too long.

My son is a South Carolina grad. I always traveled to Columbia when the Tigers played there to enjoy a game with my son. USC fans are great and the pre-game atmosphere is always fun. I'm going to miss it.

The most salient point, I believe.

Agreed. They could solve a lot of that if they just went to a 9 game schedule.

Why would it be once every 11 years? Am I missing something? In the current format, wouldn't we complete all SEC East schools home-home games every 6 years? We would have actually played everyone every 5 years, just not home-home until the 6th year.

We have 1 permanent (Florida) and 2 rotating every year.

Example:
Year 1
LSU v Kentucky
LSU v Tennessee

Year 2
Same as Year 1

Year 3
LSU v Vandy
LSU v Georgia

Year 4
Same as Year 3

Year 5
LSU v USC
LSU v Missouri

Year 6
Same as Year 5

You couldn't use that format unless you went to 9 games, and just for future reference they don't rotate two at a time. Basically it is

Tennessee H
Vandy A

Kentucky H
Tennessee A

S Carolina H
Kentucky A

etc
etc

1995 is the only year Arkansas goes to Atlanta if LSU and UF aren't permanents. The inter-divisional opponent rotation keeps the best team from getting to Atlanta (ala Carolina/UGA) which I see as a huge problem.

Agree with Spurrier and Miles, let the best team in the division go to Atlanta. South Carolina swept the East last year and watch the SECCG from home.

Nothing to see here I guess

Agreed. Which is why we need to be on a three year rotation with every school.

thats why i like the conference champions only playoff idea.. SEC teams could then play a 9 (or more) game SEC schedule with no worry that they will get left out for a couple of losses due to SEC play.. win your conference and you are in..

Move to 9 SEC Games.

6-3 Rotation.

You play home and away with every opposite division team in 6 years.
