I would be there, but I just have too much going on right now.

i thought about it, but none of those beers terribly excite me.

The food looks more exciting to me than the beer.

Everything at Beausoleil is good. I'd love to go for that and the company as much as the beer.

Everyone missed out. I thought it was fantastic and outside of one course the beer pairings were right on point.
The only beer that I hadn't had before was Wasatch's Little Slammers, pony bottles of a 5.2% Golden Ale, which started our dinner paired with small bites (duck confit tarts and cracklin). The beer was one of those beers that may have been great outside by the pool in the heat, but inside at a table the corn mass produced lager taste was overwhelming to me personally.
First course was the blue corn and crab hush puppy of sorts paired with the Wasatch White Ale. While neither were the best options of the night this was by far the best pairing. I really enjoyed the White Ale and should be buying it more often and it went so well with the crab and remoulade dipping sauce.
Second course was grouper and fried sweetbreads paired with the "award winning" Squatters IPA. Another solid course, perfectly cooked fish and my first encounter with sweetbreads which were great. The balanced IPA didn't over power the fish at all which was great but also cleared your palate well in between bites.
Third course was the Lamb Shank Milanese, which was described as lamb's head cheese pan fried crispy and was paired with the Outer Darkness Stout. The lamb was easily one of the best dishes that I have ever had. They slow cooked the lamb, pulled it, then formed it into a terrine, cut it into squares and pan fried it. So it was crunchy on the outside but then melted away in the middle. While it went well with the huge stout, I felt the stout is more of a night cap and was slightly out of place before the last course. Flavors went really well together though.
Desert course was where I felt it fell short. Chocolate and bacon tart of sorts. It was good, a little dry though. Paired with Wasatch Devastator Bock. Didn't understand this pairing at all. It was almost like they had another course and one beer left so they just stuck them together. Unfortunate but maybe not much they could have done.
Overall this was the best beer dinner I have been to in Baton Rouge. And they kept pouring the beer which was great, maybe not for this morning but for last night it was great. Well worth the 60 bucks.
