With the LSU Baseball Tigers sitting at 42-14, 19-11, having just clinched the outright SEC Championship, I am left to ponder how this could be. It's as if the success of this season is what Shakespeare penned as being "without rhyme nor reason"! How in the world could anyone have seen this coming? Not even the most fanatical fan who wears P&G glasses could have envisioned this magical season unfolding in front of his eyes.

However, after some introspection, there does seem to be, at the very least, an explanation. Stay with me here, as I may stretch this pretty thin. It all started with the LSU football Tigers. After winning the Game of the Century against Alabama in Tuscaloosa, finishing the regular season as SEC Champs at 13-0, the Tigers were rewarded with the privilege (insert tongue in cheek) of playing Nick Saban one more time for all the marbles. And we all know how that turned out. As if that wasn't enough to set the Tiger nation and the State of Louisiana into a year-long tailspin, here comes BountyGate, resulting in our beloved New Orleans losing Sean Payton and several key players. And why did this have to happen now? The Saints had it all out in front of them - a hunger from the loss in San Francisco and the prospect of playing the Super Bowl in The Superdome.

Speaking as a true homer, both of these events lacked any sense, logic, essentially happened "without rhyme nor reason". (Well not completely without rhyme, as in Little Nicky Satan or Roger "GoToHell" Goodell, but I digress.)

So maybe the explanation of the 2012 Baseball Tigers is one "without rhyme nor reason". Case in point – did anyone think that LSU would have the nation’s best hitter, putting up what some have called “Nintendo numbers”, so late into an SEC season, and what is the reason a 2011 Friday night starter is now in the bullpen? Or Slaid at the plate with 2 outs in the 10th inning, on the road, with the SEC crown on the line? I could go on and on, but it seems like Paul Mainieri always gives reason to what seems unreasonable to most, while the Tigers always find some type of magic to pull things through. Enough is enough!

For the remainder of this magical season, I will stop trying to figure it out. I will stop looking at opposing team’s schedules, RPIs, regional projections, etc. I will strap in, enjoy the ride, and trust that the 2012 Tigers, with all due respect to Billy S., continue to win WITH RHYMES AND REASON!!!!

dude, you been readin' the rant tooooooo much.
you believe most of these ranturds actually know anything about anything. you seem like one of the unbelievers.

i study spiritual and mystical beliefs as a hobby.
sports can be sometimes only explained by mystical or magical happenings.

there is belief and then there is believing you can understand or explain logically the basis of mysticism.

you read tooooo much. you read negative prognosticators tooooo much. you want to believe but you have not experienced the basics of faith.

coaches like pm and lm have to inspire (put spirit into) their players.

just like the players, you can believe or fall back on your old learned behaviors of disbelief, failure or fear.

it is gratifying to see you start to believe, but one day, i hope all of you see that the now moment is the only way to enjoy all of this.

i expect you to dr.
i was cordial and read your long discourse, but, you have validated my feelings about you being a negative person. you are so full of yourself, you would not read any response that does not agree with you.
i don't believe you can change, but, one day you will wake up and accepte your humaness and quit playing god with your judgement.
a good word for you to study this year is compassion.

This has not been the most talented baseball team LSU has fielded, but they have gotten as much out of their talent as any team. They have responded well to pressure situations. This is an interesting team to follow!
