I have heard good things but I trust the food boards opinion more (that is my own cross to bare). Taking my girlfriend and her parents for her graduation. Tried Jubans and Mansurs, our normal upscale places but they are booked. How does Stroubes measure up? Am I going to be waisting my money or should I expect a good meal?

Evidently, you shouldn't order steak even though they have "steak" in their tag line.

Dead on right there. Best restaurant in BR. I really like their take on capresi salad and the blue cheese wedge salad with carmelized onions. I think their steaks are good and any fish or scallops with the mango chutney is legit.

Better than both Mansur's and Juban's.

Appetizers - BBQ Shrimp & Grits, Crab and Corn Gnocchi. Neither can be missed. Lamb lollipops are also legit.

Entrees - Duck Duo, Double Down Pork Chop, Any specials with scallops

Sides - Trufled lobster mac and cheese, Smoked Gouda Grits or Bacon and Blue cheese grits if you for some reason don't heed my advice on appetizers.

A few martinis beforehand.

Only been twice. Once for lunch, once for dinner. It was very good but was toward the beginning of their existence so they werent quite as good as they are now... apparently.

Get the sea bass. I'm serious. Disregard everything said by everyone else in this thread thus far, order the sea bass, and you'll thank me.

Tasted both. Duo is better. Anyone can cook sea bass...duck is a different animal.

Tasted both as well on my last trip, which was also my first for dinner. Duck was very good, but sea bass was better IMO.

We'll enjoy both, as should all.
